Re: MLB '13 - Opening Day
And?
Not every staff has a bonafide 1/2
You take whoever is the ace on Miami and stick them in St. Louis or one of the better rotations and they are downgraded.
You stick bailey on the best rotation in the majors and he is pushing a 3/4 type guy.
Your point is you are trying to prove me wrong that he is just an average pitcher. I agreed he has been very good this year, last year a little less good than this. Before that pretty awful.
All of a sudden he is a 1/2 in the league after a half season of baseball in your eyes and number munching program?
You win then and we disagree again.

Re: MLB '13 - Opening Day
i'm confused. all i said was 'he's been really good the last two seasons' and you said 'we have different definitions of really good'.
we just isolated what he's production has been. now you're saying not each team has a #1 or #2? what does that have to do with where he ranks overall or how good he has been?
he's been at worst a top 30 pitcher, regardless of the team, the lineups, the stadiums, whatever over the past 1.5 seasons. there are 30 teams in baseball. the best pitcher on each team is typically considered an 'ace'. on a more objective level (bc you are right not every team has a #1) the top 30 or so pitchers in the league can be classified as 'ACES'. so, to answer you question...yes. based on his production the last season and a half he's been a #1/ safe #2. that's not my opinion (i don't even know if I've seen him pitch more than the 9th last night since his rookie year), that's what's happening.

Re: MLB '13 - Opening Day
I was moreso referring to last year and the very good.
Could have saved us some keystrokes.
Last year was good, not very good, not ace like IMO.
This year he has been very good. Maybe he has turned a corner and becomes an ace, who knows.

Re: MLB '13 - Opening Day
his numbers are nearly identical this yr to last except this year he has a higher k/9 and less hr/9.. he went 13-10 last yr and is currently 5-6..

Re: MLB '13 - Opening Day
the reason Baileys numbers are so good this year is because hes keeping his HR's down, thats about the only big difference.DRiccio21 wrote:his #'s are much better this year.nick wrote:his numbers are nearly identical this yr to last except this year he has a higher k/9 and less hr/9.. he went 13-10 last yr and is currently 5-6..

keeping the FBs in the park (his 11% down to 7%) is keeping his HR/9 at a retarded 0.5/9.. notice the BABIP is the same, and his ERA (although not just a pitcher stat) is nearly the same. his K/9 increased but 7.2 is still great for a SP to begin with. BB/9 is the same.
So ya, keeping FB in, difference.

After Braun's first run in with PEDs last year or whenever it was:

Re: MLB '13 - Bye Braun
eh, they are close friends.
Braun's a scumbag, it is what it is. can't really blame Rodgers for backing his buddy.
think its hysterical MLB is being applauded for this. Braun gives up 3 mil bucks, takes an 8 month vacation and comes back next year to start up the rest of his guaranteed 100 mil deal. you are nuts if you aren't doing PED's in baseball. I wish the game would just stop the fake 'we care' act and just let them use the PED's and move on with it. this is never ending, especially not with these type of penalties.

Exactly.
The Brewers suck so him being gone wont be missed, $3mil is nothing to him, he starts his career all over again being a stud next year like nothing ever happened.
Bravo MLB!!!

I know he agreed to it, but I still don't see how the MLB could penalize him for more than 50 games, based on the rules that were collectively bargained.
And I forgot where I read, but they said the evidence against Braun was nothing compared to what they have on ARod. If he doesn't make a deal, he's getting hit hard, not that it matters lol.

Last week there was bragging that ARod was in far better shape than Jeter on his recovery... then 2 days ago ARod tweaks a quad... uh huh.

ARod just needs to cut a deal. He retires and MLB never mentions what they specifically have on him. The Hall of Fame would be what he wants though and if he was to retire in a situation like this whatever slim chance he has of making it is gone completely.

Based on some of the other guys, I'd say his HOF chances as of now are slim, so I don't even know that it matters.LetsGoPeay wrote:ARod just needs to cut a deal. But if Clemens and Bonds ain't getting, then what's the point of even having a baseball HOF? Just silly.
Re: MLB '13 - Bye Braun
The only problem I have with Braun is his quote about "taking the high road." If you do drugs, no problem. Get arrested? Fine. Lie about things? Whatever. Just play ball.
However, when you come off like we are the idiots and you turn out to be everything you were accused of ... well, I am sorry, you're a douchebag.
