Advanced to Preseason

Next advance: Saturday at 10pm EST

Since scheduling I would like some midwest / east coast ranked teams on my schedule.. I would also like to request that I have no user games outside bowling green..

ONly because 1 day is tough to get a game in.. Usually mgr and Ihave no problem.. But this time our schedule just didnt mesh for the game.. And 1 day to get it in doesnt leave much to scheduling .

Advanced to Week 1

Did best to accommodate everyone and their schedules. Here's the week 1 rundown

- Bowling Green passes a tough test beating Boise on the smurf turf in what they hope is a magical season
- Bigred increases his chances at landing the Nebraska job by beating them in front of their own fans. Could the sea of red be getting a preview of their new coach?
- Michigan State travels west to face off against UCLA in a game featuring two basketball powers
- Minnesota opens up against Ohio, a good game for coach Buckeye to get to know his new team
- Syracuse travels to College Station and hopes not to be a sacrificial lamb for Texas A&M in their season opener
- Looking for a rebound season, taking down Boston College will be Buffalo's first challenge.

Preseason Poll
28 - Rice
39 - Navy
43 - Missouri
45 - Cal
59 - Minnesota
73 - Bowling Green
87 - Buffalo
92 - Michigan State
96 - Syracuse
97 - SMU
102 - SJSU
112 - UAB

Looks like a bit of a climb for some of you, and good job setting up your previous programs for the future ;)

All Americans
HB - Josh Haden - Navy - 1st team
LG - Richard Foster - Navy - 1st team
LG - David Hong - Navy - 2nd team
C - Brady Demell - Navy - 1st team
C - Marc Stevens - Bowling Green - 2nd team
RG - Kyle Bryant - Bowling Green - 1st team
OLB - Dan Vaughn - Syracuse - 1st team
CB - Marc Anthony  - Cal - 1st team
RET - Tim Moore - Bowling Green - 2nd team

Satchell Saves the Day

Cal barely escapes the Horseshoe with a victory thanks to a gutsy 4th quarter comeback. It will be an season for renowned coach Webs as he transitions from a ground and pound team to an air it out squad. Using the Mississippi State playbook Bears QB Beau Sweeney was sacked 6 times by a fierce Ohio State pass rush, who injured the senior signal caller's ribs multiple times in the game. Sweeney refused treatment from the medical staff and was able to complete 73% of his 26 attempts on the day. However, he struggled passing down the field efficiently and was intercepted on two long balls. "We're going to really need to stretch the field to open up the passing game more. We put a lot of pressure on our defense today, and they'll only be able to carry the team so far" stated the coach. The aforementioned comeback might have never happened if it wasn't for the outstanding play of All American corner Marc Anthony. With Ohio State attempting to stretch the lead to two scores, Anthony out battled a Buckeye receiver and came down with a crucial interception. Sweeney led the troops down the field and capped it off with a strike to wideout Charles Satchell, his second score of the day. The Bears were then able to seal the deal thanks to a Jarrett Sparks touchdown run and another Marc Anthony interception. "I'm proud of the way we were able to close out this ball game" said a proud coach. Webs continued, "There's some things we need to address in practice, one of them being protecting the quarterback, but overall I'm pleased to come out victorious".

sounds like a great game.. gl on that protecting the qb.. Expect to be sacked at least 4 times a game with that all shotgun pass happy offense.. CPU DE have knack for getting in untouched. But if you figure it out on how to limit sacks please let me know.

4 times is a good average. I was actually averaging 6 or so per game with SMU. Glad to see my new team 5 spots ahead of SMU in the polls. Like webby said got a long way to climb from 92 in the country. LOL

Really, I guess i m just over critical of my Olines cause 4 for me is a good game. I would like to avg no more then 3 a game, when I in the pass happy team. But I think I avg about 5 to 6, they are just huge drive killers.

FYI. there is an update 1.03 ofr NCAA. i got booted and then when i tried to sign back on it came up as i needed to update it.

on the other hand....MSU destroys in state rival Central michican.

check out the stats below.
Image

Note the time 2nd quarter 3:24 left. Score is 42-3 I had run just 2 offensive plays. SS Jairus Jones had 2 INTS for TD and a fumble return for a TD as well as a sack.

It was just a ridulous TO fest, and KR fest.

Update.....

After a defensive stop by the Spartans Baker fumbles the punt. ND would punch it in from 5 yards out to extend their lead. 31-21.

MSU gets the KO and returns it 89 yards for their back to back KRs for Tds. MSU takes the lead in the 4th after an 11 play 89 play drive to go up 35-31.

ND drives and missed a Fg that would of put them within 1 point with 2:56 to go. MSU Manages to run out the clock and take the W away from ND in the final moments.

MSU Wins the Megaphone with 2 prized recruits on campus.

Player of the Game
Edwin Baker 22 carries 109 yards 2 TDs - 2 receptions 41 yards 1TD - 2 KR for 118 yards and a TD
