What was I thinking scheduling my team back to back bye weeks?! I'm starting to forget what seeing my QB being sacked every 5 plays looks like :)

Rivarly Game Recap:

Buffalo was wanting revenge, had been waiting, had been loathing, and when they got their chance the bulls trampled all over the owls.

THe Bulls would only attempt 5 passes the whole game and completed 1 in the monsoon type weather.
But would march to a 48 -13 win. Buffalo was led by their 1-2 punch of rbs Junior Jeffvon Gill, and Senior Peterson.
combined they rushed for 501 yards and 7 TDs, Peterson became just 6 yards shy of eclipsing 300.

THis win felt good after losing the last 2 seasons....

Advanced to Week 5

- Cal plays USC week 6 at home with a ton on the line and recruits galore coming. Will they slip up the week before at 3-1 UCLA?
- Will Bowling Green be able to stop Notre Dame - a team littered with talent - in South Bend?
- Back in the top 25, Navy looks to continue their dominance over Air Force
- Iowa at Michigan State. Neither team is ranked but both are undefeated. One team won't be flying under the radar anymore after this one
- Minnesota is reeling early on in the season. That's not a good sign as now they face #1 Penn State in Happy Valley
- Syracuse is 0-2 but a win versus undefeated West Virginia could cure a lot of ills

Next advance: Thursday at 9pm EST

Bowling Green leaves South Bend on a high note, defeating Notre Dame 24-14 in an absolute ground war by both teams.

The Falcons need to remain focused and keep playing tough on the road as they ONLY have 3, yes 3, home games all season.

Coach Donkeysho has a talented starting quarterback in Sr. Jordan Miller and equally talented back-up Jr. Matt Schilz (who carried starting duties last season). But a quarterback is only as good as the receivers he is throwing it too, and it is becoming more and more evident that the recieving corp is lacking in talent. It seems like every reciever is trying to catch with boxing gloves on their hands.

So the offensive production thus far has come by means of a solid ground attack led by Jr. Ali Alabody and a solid offensive line.

Let the dynasty rejoice, #10 Cal goes down

Image
Opening drive - User pick for the TD

UCLA marched down the field with just over a minute left, but were intercepted to seemingly thwart any thought of a comeback. But wait, Cal head coach decides to try some new plays for the upcoming USC game and boom fumble.

Image
Call me a drawf cause I'm Dopey

24 yards later UCLA scores on a 4th and 2 last gasp play. The Bears got the ball back with under 30 seconds left, but were only able to advance it to the Bruins 41. The 58 yard field goal attempt went begging and the students ran onto the field.

Michigan State steals one from Iowa.

After a 14-14 tie in the middle of the 2nd quarter MSU look to be on the verge of blowing it wide open behind a Sr running back Edwin Baker. He broke for a 63 yard run, a 72 yard screen in the span on 1:20. MSU added a FG to go up 28-7 with just a minute left before half. Then EA magic once again appeared. Iowa scores 2 Tds in the final minute of hte half behind 2 40 yard td passes from Davis to WR Vendenberg. Iowa now leads 28-24.

The third saw just one TD, an 8 yard run by Baker to put MSU up 21-24. Iowa scores with 3:50 remaining in the 4th on another TD pass to Vandenberg. MSU drives to the 24 and faces a 4th and 3 and fails. Iowa attempts t orun the clock but MSU still has all 3 TOs remaining and gets the ball back with 50 seconds to go in the game.

:58 first down 0 incomplete.
:53 second 5 yard pass Baker
:37 third 20 yard pass to White
:27 first incomplete
:21 second 15 yards to fowler
:13 first TD pass Maxwell to Fowler

With 9 seconds remaining Iowa manages 1 pass attempts but it is itercepted by McCray MSU wins!

Player of the game
RB Edwin Baker - 21 carries 153 yards 2 TDs, 3 catches 134 yards 2 TDs, 79 KR yards, 20 PR yards.

Oh did I mention all of this in front of 12 recruits!
4 - 3*
6 - 4*
1 - 5*

Wait until you play Iowa.
QB is rated 94 OVR with 80+ speed 90 THP 95 THA
RB is like a 93 OVE with 95 speed and 99 ACC
#1 WR similar to RB above.

The only chance i had was to pick on their #2 corner who was an 88 OVR with 86 speed and 89 ACC. Becasue the otehr was a monster. Also the FS is 95 speed as well. Add to that their LBs are all 85+ speed and 2 of them have 90 ACC.

If it wasnt for scouting out thats slow corner, i would of been destroyed by halftime.

Also...i am glad i dont play auburn.

Yeah I miss the days I could return kicks with ease not anymore though, Since I had the season where I had 14 kick returns for tds, I have had only 4 since.

But to answer your question, it has to do more with the blocking and where the ball is kicked..

when the ball kicked toward a sideline.. You need your blockers to form a wedge more toward the sideline, where they pick up the 3 outside gunners.. If they do that you only need to make one subtle move, and then hit the lane toward the sideline and be gone for 6.

But if they dont form the wedge toward the sideline and form it to the middle returning kicks becomes much more differcult and requires more moves, which means you usually get chased down from behind, just as your about to break it.

Michigan squares away vs another top 25 team this time the #24 ranked Hossiers in yet another Rivalry game for the Spartans.

Things started off well for MSU as they jumped to a quick 28-6 lead in the second. that lead was too much to overcome for IU as the EA gods forced them to come back and try to make it a game. IU came within a 2 point conversion to make it a 7 point game with 1:23 left in the 4th. However, MSU would pick off the 2 point attempt and go for 2 of their own. MSU would then add an insurance TD run by Baker to cap the scoring at 51-33. 5-0 and still unranked.

PLayer of the game
Edwin Baker 11 rushes 159 yards 3 TDs - 3 rec 23 yards 1 TD - 56 yards on KR

Out of nowhere my top 2 RBs are now my Offensive impact players, so ill have to look for ways to spread the weath and make it a nightmare to defend with some 2 back sets.

Next up 4-1 Illinois.

Bowling Green finds themselves ranked #23 in the nation after last weeks win over Notre Dame. This week the Falcons take to the road...AGAIN   ...to face a struggling Temple Owls team.

Ali Alabody had another standout game with 14 carries for 225 yards and a pair of TD's. The receiving corp showed signs of life (and hands) making a few catches here and there, much to the surprise and approval of Coach Donkeysho.

The Buffalo Bulls squared off against conference foe 4-1 Akron Zips.

In the first half the Bulls and Zips would take turns scoring as Buffalo got it done on the ground and Akron completed passes at will and scored through the air. Halftime Score 17-17

Akron received the ball first in the second half and promptly scored again through the air making the score 24 -17 .
But Buffalo answered back with another rushing touchdown tieing it up 24 all. After the score could see the Buffalo defense yelling lets getta stop so we can put this game away. The Defense would promptly get a 3 and out.
THe offense would then go to work and score their 4th rushing touchdown. THe Defense would get a couple more stop and the Bulls would add another touchdwon and field goal going on to win 42-24.

The Bulls were again led by their 2 headed monster Jeffvon Gill 224 yards 2 Tds and Johnthen Peterson 186 yards 3 Tds, Impact Qb Dennison only threw one pass all game completing it for 11 yards.

Buffalo moves to 5-1 overall and 3-0 in the conference , and now begins to prepare for the undefeated Falcons.

With that said I have a game around noon on saturday central time.. WHen can you play thedonkeysho?

As of right now I can't nail down an exact time because I will be in and out for a while on Saturday. Friday evening may work best, if possible for you.

Either way, I'll keep an eye out for ya and we'll find a time.

Looking forward to it 6footer. Good luck.
