Betting odds on that are probably on line with David James scoring for England, and I don't mean an own-goal. SWP is god awful at finishing.

Why wasn't that a corner when the England guy kicked it out?

Imagine being one of the players, playing this poorly--with Princes William and Harry there, no less.

Had the World Cup been played a year ago, I'd have laid heavy money on England. They were KILLING teams in qualifying. I know Ferdinand is out but still.

Oh yay....it's the goofy tall stick Crouch.

Only good part about Crouch being at the World Cup: the cameras may find Abby Clancy :D

So ...

Slovenia 4
United States 2
England 2
Algeria 1

US v Algeria
England v. Slovenia

US and England Win

US 5
England 5
Slovenia 4
Algeria 1

Simple. Just a matter of tiebreakers to determine seeding going forward.

US Win and England Loss

Slovenia 7
United States 5
England 2
Algeria 1

More likely than one would think based on what I've seen.

US win and England tie

Slovenia 5
United States 5
England 3
Algeria 1

US tie and England Tie

Slovenia 5
United States 3
England 3
Algeria 2

Real fucked since the tiebreakers are gay. It would come down to drawing lots, IIRC, which is another of many, many asinine rules in soccer. When you get down that far, use shots, possession, last goal, anything but fucking lots.

US tie and England Win

England 5
Slovenia 4
United States 3
Algeria 2

Bye!

if we're tied with england, we'd have an advantage because we put up 2 goals today and they put up none. goals scored comes after goal difference. they'd have to have a high scoring tie if we both tied next week.

We DO NOT want to win the group.

Germany looks like they'll finish second in Group D, so the winner of Group C gets them.

Yes and Germany looked slower that England and Italy for that matter so I am not worried about Germany per say.

All teams can be beaten that I have seen. Even Argentina or Brazil.

like they Just win this one and then worry about the next one when it gets here.

I am REALLY pissed now.

I just saw a replay from a camera angle that was from the sideline at midfield, and it ends up lining up PERFECTLY with the referee....and he's looking DIRECTLY AT Bocanegra and Bradley as they're being tackled and hugged, respectively....and does NOTHING.

Fucking disgrace.
