I still can't believe he didn't belt buckle it. He looks like he has a muffin top.
I will give him credit though. I'm going to Dallas this weekend and don't think I have the balls to walk into a cowboy store and try shit on, take pics, and leave.

madness isn't about buzzer beaters, it's the upsets imhoDRiccio21 wrote:people don't talk about it, but the tourney has kinda sucked and lacked the late shot drama for like 3 straight years.
I think there was 1 buzzer beater last year, this year there was only the Craft shot. not much 'madness' going on

he emerged this year, but a role player. Provides depth for when Peyton Siva picks up a dumb 2nd foul in the 1st half as he always does, now they have some random whitey Henderson out there behind Siva/Smith who is nowhere near the player Ware is.Cnasty wrote:I have no clue but was he any good? Like one of their better players or any nba potential?
Not sure it will hurt them in fatigue, but their backcourt depth is shot without him and foul trouble could be problematic

Ah man, i could have sworn I posted it, but I guess not. LSUFreek has a great GIF of the scene of Adam Sandler in Billy Madison playing dodgeball with Mike Rice's head on Sandler's body.
I just find it amazing that he didn't get fired when it first came to light. I'm not saying I don't understand it, but one of my pet peeves is when a team/university fires someone based solely on media pressure. Have a backbone and stand up for what you believe in. What's the point of even having an AD or GM if you're gonna let the media make decisions for you?
That being said, everyone is going down. I'm guessing the AD and even school president will possibly lose their jobs over this one.

just another dude on a power trip.
pathetic on his part. I'm a firm believer in hardnose, oldschool, disciplinarian style coaches as that's what i'm used to and I think it helped me a lot in my life, but this guy wasn't any of that. he was just a coward on a power trip.

There's a world of a difference between being hardnosed and yelling at kids and just absolutely degrading kids simply because you can. He's an authority figure. These kids can't take a ball and throw back at him and he knows that. If they could, he certainly wouldn't be doing that.

smells like a cover up, don't think there's any "stand up for what you believe in" they were just stupidly hoping it wouldn't leakshel311 wrote:Ah man, i could have sworn I posted it, but I guess not. I watched the OTL video on espn.com yesterday. I'm surprised those players didn't beat that asst coach's ass on the spot. Dude looks like a complete asshole if you ask me.ajalves wrote:honestly, the video of the assisstant coach is worse. trying to find it specifically of the assisstant Jimmy martelli (something like that)

why are you surprised? They have no leverage and would never see another scholarship offer againWhittness10 wrote:I watched the OTL video on espn.com yesterday. These dudes have played basketball their whole lives. Maybe a couple of them are hoping to get a shot in the NBA or overseas. Others are using it to pay for their education.Whittness10 wrote:I watched the OTL video on espn.com yesterday. I'm surprised those players didn't beat that asst coach's ass on the spot. If they retaliate, that's all gone. Everything they worked for and towards in regards to basektball for their entire lives is gone, and they're never playing basketball again very likely. That's what makes the entire thing so shitty, the coach knows that they're in that position, which is why he was on his power trip.

Re: 2012-2013 College Hoops Thread
A line was definitely crossed, and I don't think anyone would blame those kids retaliating. In this situation I think they would get a second chance had they thrown a punch. Maybe not at Rutgers but there would be exceptions made. Don't get me wrong I am not talking about murder or anything, the reason I am surprised is because not all young adults can keep their cool and look at long term ramifications when someone is in their face.VeniVediV1ci wrote:why are you surprised? definitely didn't think you were talking murder, lol, but they have to thinking about their careers no matter how immature they are because i'd go further than Shel and say that every player on the team thinks their going to the league

Is the assistant, Jim Martelli, the son of Saint Joe's coach Phil Martelli? Phil kind of got some bad pub last year or the year before for not releasing a grad student to transfer and be eligible immediately even though the kid was pretty much inconsequential as a player other than being 6'11".
