You couldn't be further from the truth here AJ.
well, without starting WW3 here, you're living in a dream world if you dont think thats exactly what happens with tons of coaches
?Understood. I mainly hot route my HB to stay in to block but you should have man or zone reads for every single play you call, at least I do anyway.

I hot route my RB in as well just about every time.
And with thos game and everyone complaining correctly that every formation has the same exact plays, I say hot route as many as you want and make new plays.
I don't know, never bothered me.

i dont think anyone cares about a few hot routes here and there... 1 or 2 a drive even is okay.
its when every play the play clock comes down to 5 seconds cause the other guy is 'reading' the defense and calling 3 hot routes and moving guys back and forth in motion and shit.
the guys who aren't that good don't enjoy sitting there every play, we just want to sling 50 passes or 50 runs and throw our picks and move on with our lives

Doing anything that causes the play clock to run down drives me nuts.

Fast play = Happy Coach.
Admittedly, I audible/hot route more than most... but I also read the defense while my guys are lining up and start making any adjustments before I even get to the LoS. (you can hot route before you're actually there btw)
This just makes me think of a few play clock pet peeves:
- Guys that run the play clock under 10 seconds... really? Is the game that complicated for you?
- Guys that play fast throughout the game, then all of the sudden with a lead at the start of the 4th quarter, they forget where their plays are located in their playbooks.
- Guys that call a play with :06 or less left in a quarter. (pay attention)

People that go thru all that shit every play bore the living hell out of me. I’d rather just end the game and let them pick the score.

On defense?
On offense, I always make sure to have my QB make some sort of noise so my opponent doesn't get used to hearing a hot route and then a pass.

the ONLY time i EVER audible on defense is when i see a guy run someone in motion to see man/zone...then they audible....i will counter with some sort of audible....because we all know what the hot route is.

Yea, I have no fucking idea what he's talking about. Clearly, there are guys that play this game a lot and then there are the rest of us.

well i guess it's not one thing in particular. double moves, square in and outs or just going to throw it up down the sideline.....of course zone isn't going to stop that stuff either. When i'm on defense and get a stop, it's pure luck.
