this is conf goals....not bonuses...conf goals are incorped into your season success..

Oh, I see now. My mistake.
I like difficult, though, so you'll have to excuse me. If I was captain of the ship, it'd be Draconian around here. I am not the type of person that likes gross switching of teams. I believe you should have to earn - really fucking earn - a top draft spot.
In my world, you have to meet goals as set forth here in the NDL. However, only a portion of the excess points are used for drafting purposes. The rest gets "banked" (if you will). The draft would reward only those who stuck with a team for two, three, or four seasons as when the points "mature" - at a rate I can't determine right now - only then could you take 100% of your surplus points and compute the ratio the NDL currently uses.
Now that is fucking realism!

LGF wrote:I agree how you see those conf goals...
but is it so hard to say finish .500 in that league? as a conf goal.
I mean...I still find it hard to believe that the worst team in a conference they are EXPECTED to win 1...can somehow reel off 3 wins in conference...
Im just dumbfounded that if I have to win 1 conf game....but in order to make a bowl...I have to win atleast 2.
8 conf games...1 rival oustide...and then 3 non conf.
without 2 conf wins I cant even make a bowl. So either it should be a 2 win conf goal (lol) or lower the expectation.
Im just asking to review...regardless of the tier...to expect Iowa to make it out of the Big 10 and make it to a bowl...you expect every single team in the Big 10 to make a bowl...and frankly, I have NEVER seen an entire conf make a bowl...AS EXPECTED...remember if iowa is expected to go bowling, that means everyone in the big 10 should.

ok, this time i may come of as an ass because you clearly arent doing the one thing i asked
....looking at the big picture.
NOTHING you said above is from a league standpoint.
EVERYTHING is about "Iowa"...everythign is about you.
I have a funny feeling I can explain til im blue in the face and "your" goals will still be unfair.
I'll adress once, after that you're on your own.
shit, i mean, dont even look at the big picture of the league...look at the big picture of just IOWA.
to dynasty them you need 77.5 points
SEVENTY-FUCKIN-SEVENPOINT-FUCKIN-FIVE.
you dont even need ANY of the season success if you do your participate and do DECENT on coaches reports.
you could go o and fuckin 12 and
SUCCEED
and you're bitchin about soemthign that is 15% of your season success which is 20% of your total goals
im honestly dumbfounded right now...i mean i'll say one more thing and be done.
we dont EXPECT every single team in the big 10 to make a bowl.....BUT every single team will have the GOAL of making a bowl (based on the ratings of all the teams in the conf)
I am amazed with how easy it really is to keep a team who needs 77.5 points, you are syaing it needs to be EASIER.
what you are lacking in not looking from the big picture point of view is that there is huge difference in an EXPECTATION and a GOAL.

How about everyone has to win 0 games and finish .000 or above in their conference to keep their teams? Would that make everyone happy?

I understand nolie...but I cant get 100 pts or more...without meeting my season success...I can care less about IOWA. LOL...how am I suppose to have a shot at doing the best I can when a goal is pretty darn hard.
I understand though...its all about me.
I mean you have to really score around or above 100 pts to even draft high...guess I need to study more!

Exactly.
If your goal is to get over 100 and draft really high, you should have found a team with goals more obtainable.

I love the points system. I think its fair and reasonable and bad ass.
If you wanna bitch about win goals, then go play in a LD league that doesnt have any of that.
I am honored to be in this league.
HONORED

I hope you aren't talking about me. I never once bitched about the conf win goals. I merely made a suggestion on how to improve things in future season.
I don't see the harm in that. If you look even after I made my case, I made sure to point out that no matter what I am here to stay in the greatest league there is.
Look if we can't maturely discuss the league without people getting super defensive, then I think that takes the league down a notch.
Responses like 'leave the league if you don't like it', 'why not make the win goal 0', etc. aren't helpful.
Hell, back when we had to schedule OOC on the boards, remember all the complaining about that system. Now we have a 'better' system, but the league itself is still the same. As great as the league is there are always things that can be done to improve.
AGAIN I WILL STRESS...my post dealt with teams on the low end (teams that realistically should only win a few games in CONF, yet have a conference goal of win a bowl game or finish above .500 as an example). I think it would be just as easy to move those teams down a 'tier' in their conference. Nothing says you can't leave a 'tier' out if the conference is made up of a bunch of (B) teams and 1 (C+) team. The commish puts teams in tiers and then evaluates the make up of the conference. If something is out of line, it gets adjusted. Simple as that. Nothing more, nothing less. I wasn't singling out one particular team or one conference. Think globally!
I don't see the harm it bringing this up, even if nothing comes of it. It was merely a suggestion.

Nope...not speaking to you....I got mad when Nole got mad....his SECOND post on "the big picture" and "Iowa's " situation. He has explained the point system in incredible detail, and stated that its in the best overall state for the league and not every single person will be happy.
