All black unis on any team=win for me.

Love the Saints, Ravens, South Carolina ones.

UK has been trying to get black unis for football for a while now, rumors are that we will have them for Homecoming night vs Miss St. Rich Brooks was always against the idea, Joker Phillips seems to want to do it.

That said I like the new combat unis we have.

There's a rumor that this may be the Pro-Combat uni for LSU. If so, it's really not bad by Pro-Combat standards. White helmets are usually a good thing.

Yep, completely and utterly ridiculous.

The helmet would have looked good if it had the red and white logo on both sides w a stripe. What they did with the black and gold was just nonsense.

It would have been cool if they did something that merged the yellow/black into the uniform... but there was no flow at all between the 2 sides... looked really bad.

A good Tweet:

"Screw Miami going on probation and getting the death penalty. Its obvious Maryland has lost all institutional control with whoever allowed them to wear those uniforms"

its apparent they got 2 people to design the sides of the helmets without ever actually meeting each other and just hoping for the best.

You guys realize that's the Maryland flag, right? While I agree with everything that you're saying, it sounds as if some people (maybe not on here) feel like they had two opposing designs, when really those are the two different crests (Calvert and Crossland families) that founded Maryland. That's why they had yellow and black meet with red and white.

I think if they wouldn't have continued the design through they helmet they may have had a better chance of not looking god awful, but not much could have been done to save those things.

the turtle shell helmet i thought looked sweet, got home from dinner and was wth is going on.

I liked the turtle shell helmet better as well.

This looked like a horrible world league uniform.

Cool idea, fucked up execution. So it was appropriate for Maryland.

It's crazy how schools like Maryland and Oregon are using uniforms to recruit, but he'll it works. So many of the kids kn my team I coach absolutely loved them. I know we have lost kids going to hart cause we don't wear Nike brand stuff during fall and summer camp.

Kids love that crap. The Oregon program gets recruits on uniforms alone.

Hell, if I was a kid they would be top 3 for me on uniforms alone.

I was aware of the design being modeled after the Maryland state flag so first impression for me was not a WTF but the black and yellow on the helmet just didn't fit.

As Packsy mentioned if the helmet just had the red cross pattern on it the uniforms would look a lot better even if you left the black and yellow design on the shoulder pads.

Helmets are really key, I liked the look of Boise State's new uniforms cause I only saw a picture showing the side with the bronco on it. Then I see the game and the other side is blank? I don't think I've seen a blank side of a helmet without a stripe in the middle since pee wee football.
