like i mean they did a NBA 2k draft with 12 rounds and 32 teams without a game lol, it can be done. 25 rounds, and after round what.. 5? theyre all 20/20 guys anyways.

If you wanna keep track, fill your draft list in game and as a player is picked, remove from your ingame list, and itll show only the guys u want left and the highest they meant to you. Seems pretty easy

I figured it has to be easier to do it through the game than the utility.

Pros -
- Trendon doesnt have to load every player into the game after the draft is done
- We get to use our actual scouts
- The draft list is immediately updated
- you dont have to be near your OOTP game to draft
- when you auto draft - the player will be picked based on your scouts ranking / your list, instead of the utility
- the players in the draft are based on the game file not the utility (there are players on the utility not listed as eligible on the game file)
- less mistakes are made (in every draft, the utility seems to make mistakes)
- I can upload an updated file after every few rounds, while we wait for picks so you can get an update
- We can run the draft over a few days

Cons -
- dak doesnt like to do more than one draft
- Shel
- coug lives in the west coast/ted is in the east coast

I dont mind being available over a few days. I could leave the AIM so guys can let me know they are ready and I can transfer control to allow them to draft. Instead of sending a list, you can pick to be on auto pilot and edit your list through the game or allow the scout to do it for you (specially helpful for later rounds). Its just another idea. I dont think there are too many people that like to draft using the utility.

The reason I'm asking is that in the other league I'm in, we start the draft as soon as the draft pool becomes available, but due to starting it so early, there's no clock (time limit) set, in particular for the first round. Occasionally you get a guy who disappears for several hours, but usually it moves pretty damn well and everyone is pleased that they aren't rushed thru that first round. When we get to the actual point in the season when it's time for the draft, THEN they go to the clock time's that you're talkin about, an hour at a time, but it's more of a 11am to 11pm CST, to appease the guys in each time zone.
How do you keep track who has been drafted in round 10 and on? thats 200 players you have to cycle through before you can figure out who is left...

We have done it with the utility in the past but its a pain in the ass as you have to figure out a way to keep track of who has been taken in the actual game.
easy. you can write a report aka post it on a website all the players info. do it in excel, as a players drafted, u cross the player off. I can post a huge alphebetical list and do it manually if you really want. its not that hard.
How do you keep track in your game. I assume most are going to be counting on their scouts. I have to cross reference 100+ players drafted in order to make every pick. Its a pain in the ass and part of the reason I dont normally draft after the fifth round.

it only works for about 60 guys. I tried to do it last year. And it is a pain in the ass. Why not just do the same thing but do it through the game? Doesnt that seem more logical to have the game do it rather than trying to have 18 guys do it themselves?

Your idea doesnt work when guys want to auto draft, since there is no way of doing so without the utility or the game.

We only personally draft rounds 1-3. You set up a draft list for the rest, as we have 32 owners in the other league.

there are a few guys (myself included) that would like to draft beyond the 3rd round).

i could sit infront of a comp screen for 24 hrs if i had too to get this done, its just i dont have responsibilities like others so moreso trying to help them out.

Myself included! And it sounds like your idea is pretty sweet...lookin' forward to tryin' it out. I just don't want to be on a short ass time limit in the first round, when real-life things can pop up...and possibly cause someone to miss their most important pick of the draft....and if it means starting the draft early to not have to rush thru the first round, I'm all for it! :D

lol Bear how many rounds you think the NDLB will have done before the date of the draft? I say 6 rounds max. That is merely helpful in making sure people draft and get players they want. I doubt if we went on forum pace til that Friday, that people would auto pick.

That's what I do, start the draft 72 hours before the game date. That is usually plenty of time.

Sounds silly, but why not start it now?

I'm sure I'm missing a few things and reasons, just don't know what they are at this point.

Some of the high school and college kids are still playing and, in future seasons, they will all be playing. In fact, the day of the draft is the start of the NCAA playoffs. I really don't give a shit about the playoffs, they are just for show really.

Ohhhhhh. That's the kind of thing I wasn't thinking about.

I'd imagine he would stop, but who knows. Any way to test it, if it's worth it?

No, in real life.

In the game, he is gone. On your team.
