I went from playing for a very innovative coach growing up from 5th grade - JV ball as a freshman (his son was playing in spread offenses at Toledo and Grand Valley at the time, so we ran much of the same stuff) to a varsity coach whose offense consisted of about three different running plays, punt, and an occasional hook and ladder... it was pathetic. Coach Dietz would have cried.
