Great suggestion, but would be a major pain in the ass.ajalves wrote:just a suggestion, lets vote on awards before realignment in the future

I'm not convinced that the top 3 guys are worth near $50mil for this season.
That's more than my entire team will make, so if I can eek out 70 wins, you better get close to 100

I had a total payroll before the deal of 50m and an available budget room of 34m, with almost 80m available for extensions/FAs.
There are no SPs on the market worth spending that money on, and I couldn't have gotten any similar SP without giving up my major prospects
I took a flyer--if Murphy stinks then he's gone after this year (next year is an option), and Torres has two years. Meanwhile I only gave up one player (Thomas) who would've played in the bigs this year most likely, and I gave up some guys that, even if they panned out, probably wouldn't have seen much time with my big league team.
Plus if Ruiz doesn't perform he'll be let go after this season too, freeing up another 18m off the books. It was worth the risk for 1-2 seasons to see if I can catch lightning in a bottle.

Torres' contract isn't that bad. Maybe on the high side, but I felt comfortable with it. Solid starters like him are a commodity.

Did we ever decide how to accept/decline a team options OTHER then via email? I deleted the emails on accident for Tapia and Ando . . . can't find another way to accept/decline the options . . .

Re: 2024 - Season - Keep on Moving (Ready 7/3)
Actually, I caught my mistake before I deleted Tapia's email, so I was able to take care of his, but Ando, ya, F'd up on that one. No worries, though. He has only batted .229 with 15 HRs, 106 Rs, 108 RBIs, 176 Ks . . . he did however walk 179 time. But at the price I paid ($42.95mil), he was not worth it.
But with Ando and Tapia gone, it allows for about another $45.6mil to use for FAs or to trade for a big contract. Have a few others I am releasing (not offering arbitration) . . . so with that said, my next year's payroll going into FA signings will only be $41.8mil (give or a mil or 2 through the players that are going through arbitration). And my minors are developing nicely. I have some players in the minors that don't have the ratings that Ando and Tapia do/did, but they have some solid numbers that should fill in nicely. We will see what happens.

SO, if you don't pick up their contract, are they automatically voided or accepted??
