It sounds like you opened up the game before you installed the accounts dat file. Make sure you do all of that stuff with OOTP closed. (not 100% sure that's what you did, but it sounds like it)

My download just now started at 10:46 AM and finished sometime around 11:10-11:15.
I was in a meeting at work and when I came back, it was finished.

And we get a 10 pm deadline for tonight and roll into a Noon Sim tomorrow, That perfect times, All whoch seem to cause MAJOR issues.


Really at a loss here, Grab 1 of my other leagues files before starting this one, just to see. Yep 3 mins it was done. I then click ours, and oh still stuck at 0% after a hr and a half.

Ryan, I hear you, but I think we have proven it is not our file for our league...it is our host that we use where we are pulling the file from.
It is a completely different host than our other league uses.

Yes, I am sure we can change hosts, but I don't know what that entails.

I don't know if we are using the same host now as when past commissioners ran OOTP or if we switched when Reign took over.
If we are using this host for anything else, it would be interesting to see if they are having issues for anything else.

Usually, to switch hosts, you have to pay a fee to a new one if we wanted to try a new one, but between us all, someone may have a different host we can try.

But I do not know enough about OOTP to know if we have to use certain hosts or what the details of that would be.
This would be more of a Reign question.


If it was a file issue, I would have to imagine it would happen to more of us and more consistently.
For me and it appears, most of us, it appears to be a time of day issue more than anything, which to me, points to the host.

So i was just comparing the Dl's.

SInce some think its ISP speeds or whatever, Which isnt the case.


BUt either way, We have a LATE night sime again tonight(which will fucked up) and then a noon sim tomm, clearly no time to get the late night one tonight in am and get a upload for tomm.

And after 2 and half hours it some how didnt mess up, But I am not going to chance tonights sim.

- We're not using the same host. Trendon had the site piggy-backed on another site. When he left as commish, he also wanted it off of his server.

- The host we're using specializes specifically in OOTP. allsimbaseball.com

- The owner of the host is one of the most influential people in OOTP, next to the devs.

- In terms of cost, I think we paid about $150-$180 for a year of hosting... and he gave us his premium package which he normally charges a lot more for (he also doesn't enforce restrictions like he's supposed to).

- The amount of data that OOTP uses is insane. To find another host that would foot this level of data, it would cost us in the neighborhood of $400+.

- When comparing our league to others, it's apples and oranges. Different hosts, different file sizes, could have variance in history and rollover from other versions.

I'm sorry you can't fit in the 14hr or so window. It's only ST week 1. You can try to set your depth charts now to get some stuff taken care of for it (won't be able to use 7 day obviously).

It is not DL speeds, that we have already ruled out by myself, you and others that have discussed speeds in the past.
I know it cannot be my pc, because I have checked the CPU and Memory during an issue and nothing suspect there.

As far as some not having the issue, that is why I point to the host and load balancing.
Meaning, we are hitting different servers.

I have no idea what the host uses for that, but I am leaning that way.
Also, it could be that certain servers have Virus scan or some service running on them that is causing their servers to perform very badly.

We ran into that a few years ago at my work. Virus scan would pop up at 12 noon, in the middle of the day and it would take 6-8 hours for it to finish. During that time, the servers were basically down.
So there are 100's of things that could be causing an issue like this.

I did mine right around 5wwhich is usually bad, but got it in 5 minutes or so.

downloading the full file at 31.1 k/b. It looks like it is maxed out.

Started my download at 11:37 PM EST and it is still sitting at 24% right now with my OOTP not responding.

So I go from 15-20 minutes at 11 AM this morning to this now...

Reign, how can I work with this host?
I volunteer. Let's get this shit straightened out.

I can give him my IP address, let's put a sniffer on his network and see what server I am hitting.
Then we can do the same thing during the day when it works, see if I am hitting the same server.
Once we can verify that, if it is the same server, then the guy can look into it and try to figure out why it is happening at certain times.

Only people having issues seems to be in the Midwest with niddler, bear, thabeet? Didn't we say they may use different servers or something?

Honestly no idea but throwing out some theories.
