People are a LOT more forgiving when millions of dollars are involved.

funniest thing so far was the "getting released from prison as if he did nothing wrong"... do you even understand what prison is? its not a retirement home, people serve their time and leave...

how many people run dog fights have have not been jailed? I would think it is alot. He served jailed time and will now have to start from the bottom. He is under a microscope, so he can either hang with Tony Dungy types or Pacman types. If he does good for the humane society than more power to him. Many dog fighting rings have and will stop after this, I think it can only help.

What I meant about that...is if it seemed not long for me...18 months...he didnt get enough time...maybe 5 years would be a little better.

And I doubt many dog rings will stop...what is 5-10 dog rings out of 1,000?

People only serve the time they are given...celebrities RARELY serve the time they DESERVE.

Who knew about dog fighting rings before Vick? Now there is an awareness of it cause of Vick. I personally feel he can be a big part of the solution due to his celebrity status.

Now thats slightly unfair. You can't always crucify someone because of their celebrity status. On one hand you can easily say their cases are always more high profile, but at the same time they also pay a lot more for legal services.

When you pay hundreds of thousands of dollars for legal aide, you tend to get a nice shake of the stick.

Cnasty & Shel - Do you guys still pee in the shower when no one is around? Do you not wash your hands every time you leave the bathroom? Do you not sort all your recycbles when putting out the trash?

My point, people are generally not sorry UNTIL they get caught doing something wrong or someone puts it in their face. I'll never condone what Vick did to those innocent animals, but everyone deserves a chance to redeem themselves.

He is playing the cards he's being dealt. Whether he's truly sorry and a better man for it all remains to be seen, but don't shut him out without giving him a shot.

5 years for dog fighting? I could get less to for killing my neighbors, but they are nice so I won't be doing that. I think you don't understand how little jail time has been handed out for these crimes in the past. In many cases none at all, none.

urine is sterile so their really isn't any negative effects of peeing in the shower, unless you have some infection or something.
not washing your hands is gross but did you know the average persons work desk has more bacteria than a toilet seat.
i would recycle, but that knowledge and business doesn't exist here.

So, since they didnt get a 2nd chance, then shouldn't you be thinking he should be serving life instead of the 5 years that you said woulda been appropriate?

Oh, and I hope you think that goring bulls like they do in Mexico and rodeos are as appalling as what Vick did as well.

I think cruelty to any kind of animal out of SPORT is horrible.

Well, I don't really agree with that.

Those dogs weren't cute and cuddly because Vick and the others trained them to be killers, so that falls on Vick as well.
