Good to see the old Dr Tom back and doing what he does best.
Havent seen you posting this much in a long time, interesting.
The funniest part, look at his poll submission, and it seems fairly obvious he voted the way he did, THEN made that post because he WANTED NDL Florida to bitch and make a controversy.
That's just Dr tom being Dr Tom, nothing new.

Ah, no no,
pointing out the obvious is NOT what I do best.

And as for posting this much, yes, there's a reason for that, as well. And finally, let's be honest. I've always been jealous of not having an opportunity to run this league, so instead I choose to bitch/challenge the guys in charge, to try alittle harder to take this league off cruise control and to try to improve it! I've always been too blunt (not as blunt as Beefy, though, ha) but for me, it's always been in the best interests of this league, and it's history.....and in particular, it's FUTURE. Sometimes I feel that the NDL has become somewhat like EA.....no competition brings on lack of urgency. EA would put out a better product if 2K sports or someone would offer some competition. If the NDL had any other competitive league, MAYBE those running it would handle things differently. But that's not the case, on all fronts. Sigh.....

Then fire up the OSPL and become the 2k to the NDL's EA. Never seen someone more bitter at being passed over than Tom. You just knew that once JeffMo stepped down, you would lead the NDL. Howd that work out for ya?

The most screwed up voting though belongs to GT25Ump who had a few classics. Western Michigan at #8, one above Tennessee at #9, 3 MAC teams, 2 Sun Belt, 2 MWC, zero Big East.
Is putting Penn State at #1 a bad decision?
And I like how you mentioned all of those, but didn't mention how some top ten teams were left completely off people's polls.
Honestly, I didn't put a lot of effort into this, and now knowing how pissed people get about it, I won't even bother doing it again.
Who says anyone is mad? I thought the point of a thread like this was to post replies and talk about it? No need to take it the wrong way.

I NEVER thought I would be chosen to run this ship, even before I burned most of the bridges around me....I'm not that stupid,

. But much like politics, the guys that end up running the country aren't always the best men for the job....but are what the majority feels have the best possibility of being elected. NOT that it's a democratic process around here, ha. And I can name a number of guys currently in this league that have similar feelings as I, that would be better candidates than I. But once again, AJ is the leader right now and I'd like to point out that while he was at the convention, we had a a couple of cordial and mature conversations about the game. Conversations that may have been ridiculed and bitched about, by the higher ups.....but instead, they were handled very well. Hopefully something can be learned from that.
And no, I'm not going to re-start the NDL, which was never in competition with the NDL, just an different alternative. I have too much respect for Jeffmo and how he handled situations. Plus, it would be like starting up the XFL to compete against the NFL, HA.

Once again Tom, thats a two way street. You have never handled yourself in the best way either. You have masked your contempt for the higher up for a long time with your passive aggressive posts which mostly went un-replied to but you can only take potshots so many times before you piss off enough people.

Thats why everytime you start in on this same ol song and dance, all these "friends" come to your aid. NDL aint perfect, it has never been and never will be, but the bitches are minor compared to other leagues that have come, gone and failed much like your beloved utopia the OSPL. East room tom is always looking for a few good men and leaguedaddy is a big enough place for all of us. If you and your friends decide to leave over petty jealousy, then by all means, the NDL is bigger than than you ( which is a shock I know) and will move on.

Man, I used to be in NDL Florida...never realized the contempt some had for it. Granted I wasn't in a power position, but I knew the guys down there. I was impressed with everyone I met and feel like I made friends with the guys. Getting to know Shel, Corey, AJ, Josh, and Luis (I know he's not NDL Florida) was pretty cool. We hung out on occasion and had a blast when we did. I was grateful to meet some guys in a new place where I knew nobody.
This is not to say that everyone is perfect, just that these guys are good guys. Granted you may not always agree with them, but I never noticed anything I would consider a conspiracy.

I'll give you the lowdown, AJ is flexing his muscles as commish and Dr. Tom (who may be a real doctor, or might just be a doctor like Dr. Peppers a doctor), is trying to start a coup (Africa style, not pussy South American style). Now what few know is that Jeffmo is actually part of the resistance, and is secretly posting under an assumed identity. It's been narrowed down to either, Terps, Reign or myself.

I was wondering the other day what ever happened to Dr. Tom. I always got a kick out of the banter he kicked up when he got rolling on an issue. But this whole time I just didnt notice he was under a different name. Glad to see your still around Tom. I dont always agree with what you say or mostly in the past how you said it. However I do enjoy that you have a different way at looking at things and it keeps stuff interesting from time to time. Especially when you get Nole all fired up

It's certainly not me. I think AJ is doing a great job and Nole did when I was last in the league. I didn't really experience much with BigMike, so I can't offer an opinion. Jeffmo did a great job, but definitely ran things differently. Much of the disagreement on the boards would have been squashed. I used to get threads deleted and even got a talking to from Wes. I'd say the current regime is a bit more tolerant than the initial NDL. That's not to say that Jeffmo was better or worse, just that it was different.
Tatooboy used to get me fired up...had a couple meltdown arguments with that guy back in the grad school days (I think the '04 game). Man, we're getting old guys.

Im not down with the NDL Florida....they have asked me over a couple of times..but honestly Im just to Cool for them cats!
As for the boards, I like the way AJ and others let shit play out. If Jeffmo was running it I think about 27 of us would have been booted already.
But I'am thinkin about getting together a NDL-Texas and overthrowing the powers to be.
