This is definitely not true.

Anything under 28 or 30% or something like that is against the law.

Mine are at 5%

It's 20% for the front windows and 15% for the rear unless they've changed it in recent years. I have mine at the legal limit and at nighttime it is too dark. Of course I do have an illegal tint on my front windshield which might be the reason it is so dark at night. If you can find someone that will tint your windshield I recommend it. It is only 40% tint but it helps cut the glare and because the other windows are tinted no one can tell from just looking at the car, they have to really get up close and inspect it. ;)

In the state of Florida, speeding 1-5 over is a verbal warning anyway.

Actually, Im the opposite. I hate when Im in my marked car and people slow down under the speed limit. Especially when I'm trying to get somewhere. I don't really care if youre going over the speed limit and long as youre not reckless and it's not excessive.

As far as tint in FL: 316.2953 Side windows; restrictions on sunscreening material.--A person shall not operate any motor vehicle on any public highway, road, or street on which vehicle the side wings and side windows on either side forward of or adjacent to the operator's seat are composed of, covered by, or treated with any sunscreening material or other product or covering which has the effect of making the window nontransparent or which would alter the window's color, increase its reflectivity, or reduce its light transmittance, except as expressly permitted by this section. A sunscreening material is authorized for such windows if, when applied to and tested on the glass of such windows on the specific motor vehicle, the material has a total solar reflectance of visible light of not more than 25 percent as measured on the nonfilm side and a light transmittance of at least 28 percent in the visible light range. A violation of this section is a noncriminal traffic infraction, punishable as a nonmoving violation as provided in chapter 318.

Sunscreening material consisting of film which, when applied to and tested on the rear window glass of the specific motor vehicle, has a total solar reflectance of visible light of not more than 35 percent as measured on the nonfilm side and a light transmittance of at least 15 percent in the visible light range; however, sunscreening material which, when applied to and tested on the rear window glass of the specific motor vehicle, has a total solar reflectance of visible light of not more than 35 percent as measured on the nonfilm side and a light transmittance of at least 6 percent in the visible light range may be used on multipurpose passenger vehicles.

Sunscreening material along a strip at the top of the windshield, so long as such material is transparent and does not encroach upon the driver's direct forward viewing area as more particularly described and defined in Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards No. 205 as the AS/1 portion of the windshield.

Never stopped a vehicle for the tint being too dark, however it is probable cause for a stop. My agency doesn't have the tint meters to check. I think FHP and DOT does though.

LOL, I was just pulled over twenty minutes ago down the street from my residence by Henderson Police due to my tinted windows (limo tint windows all around). I was going the speed limit and made a turn signal onto my street, the Officer saw my vehicle and decided to turn on my street and pull me over. I had my 3 year old with me. He looked like a kid that just got done training with his field training Officer, so he just wanted to pull me over for my tint. Wasting my time because the car is old - a 1991 Chevrolet Camaro that I rarely drive......weekend driver for shows and what not. So he says license and registration, I say Officer courtesy please........he gets upset with me and says, "how would I know that your an Officer when I pulled you over?" I say, "I know that, as I was not saying anything wrong to you!" He asks for work identification, badge and my P#. He was a real cocky Officer. I think he was expecting a young kid or someone else. He let me go. I get pulled over a lot and never receive a ticket..........lucky me. For some odd reason, this care attracts a lot of attention.

Yea,that car is PIMP.

Even though I was in middle school when it came out. :D

The car to "have" in high school was the Eclipse and a Civic. Seems like every single person had or wanted an Eclipse.

I ended up getting a Civic. :D

I always loved Camaros and Mustangs.......as the class of 1992, those were the cars everyone wanted. I had a nice 1991 Camaro RS (5.0), so in college I got rid of the original one and bought a 1995 Mercury Cougar XR7 (4.6). But wanted another Camaro and here it is. I have to get new stripes painted on it, as they are fading. Here is my next project I bought in Maine back in 2006 and drove it back all the way to Las Vegas. Once I take it apart, I am going to redo the whole exterior.........interior is in great shape. 1989 Ford Mustang GT:

The 5.0 Mustang was the car to have in my high school days. We had a straight stretch somewhat outside of town where guys used to race. The Camero was popular as well. I never saw anyone get hurt, but drawing suicide lane was definitely a rush.
