Lets all agree, never look at OSA when making trades. Deal????
Surely no one would ever look at ratings they're told not to look at. Can't be that hard of a rule to follow, right?

But I would just like to be able to get into any of my league files at this point, I got much bigger problems with '21, which so far has been much worse than '20.
But it's revamped
I understand what they are trying to do.
If you have a young prospect, you scout him, he is in R ball. When he moves up a level or two, you probably need to rescout him again, but this shit of every week or two? That is crazy to me.

On the forum you're discussing this on, do the devs ever interact with folks about this stuff? I assume they'd be reading it at least? Do they seem to take this type of feedback and make changes from it?

Not how it works at all... Game is set up to automatically find X amount of scouting discoveries per team. The only thing that's remotely related to your scout is the supposed quality of discovery although that's been debatable

shel311 wrote: Thu Apr 02, 2020 4:58 pm Weird, never seen something like this happen but...

I downloaded the file this morning, everything normal. Have had OOTP 21 up all day like I always do.

Just went back to it, and I noticed all my saved filters are gone. Decide to close and restart OOTP. Do that, and it was like I was logging onto '21 for the first time ever, made me input my license key, the works, like it was brand new.

No clue what happened, haven't been messing with any files or anything today.
Do you always just leave it open? Or do you close from time to time?

I had this happen when I first opened it. I downloaded, made some filters, some changes to my home screen etc. I then had the program close on me (my laptop has been wonky recently) and because I didn't "save game" and exit the program intentionally and through the actual "close program" tab, it didn't save any of my stuff either.

It appears to need to have a hard save on some of those configs to keep them, they're not hard coded in when you select them from what I can see.

Helped me, hopefully it helps you?

Am I confused or is the #1 pitcher on Washington's staff a 1st round draft pick that refused to sign, ended up in the free agent pool incorrectly, and then was snatched up.

Oh yeah, he was my draft pick, snatched by the best team in my division when he shouldn't have been available...

Or is that not what we have tried preventing on a yearly basis?

I blame my assistant GM. He was put in charge of keeping track of these things.

Right, quality of discovery is supposedly tied to scout ability and money allocated to international scouting but no matter how much money you spend it won't change the number of discoveries

It was an issue for 3-5 seasons and no matter how many times Billy put the players back, the colleges would continue to release them. In the last year or two a decision was made to just retire the unsigned high school kids to avoid the problem.

i think it depends no? If its a college player who doesnt sign then he potentially cant go back to college (I dont know the official MLB/Agent rule to returning + could be a seniot) and would become a UFA.

He was 17 at the time and shouldn't have become a FA.
