That's pretty stupid to have a feature where we just have to keep clicking a button over and over again to scout a guy.
But I would just like to be able to get into any of my league files at this point, I got much bigger problems with '21, which so far has been much worse than '20.
But it's revamped
I understand what they are trying to do.
If you have a young prospect, you scout him, he is in R ball. When he moves up a level or two, you probably need to rescout him again, but this shit of every week or two? That is crazy to me.
On the forum you're discussing this on, do the devs ever interact with folks about this stuff? I assume they'd be reading it at least? Do they seem to take this type of feedback and make changes from it?
Yes, here is a response from a user and then below it, I had Matt, another OOTP dev respond to my post.
I also emailed Markus, Matt and Lukas together to get some feedback:

You don’t have to rescout as much as you think. The director runs on auto and you can set up scouting needs to direct him to scout more of a specific area. (Scout players under 22)
Your scouting budget will also help in a specific area of scouting. More budget for minor league scouting means more reports there (more staff hired to scout the minors)
One thing I would suggest is that scouting accuracy for players in your own organization should not drop below average. It just doesn’t visible look right for OSA to have a higher accuracy on your own players even though I personally know that a scout with legendary across the board with low accuracy on a player is probably just as accurate if not more than OSA since OSA is mediocre across the board.
And here is the response in my thread from Matt, an OOTP Dev:
Keep in mind, too, that accuracy after a report comes out doesn't matter as much. Reports don't really change after they are generated, but you should be expected to need 3-4 or more reports per year if you actually wanted to maintain a high accuracy on players, so in a month a report certainly could drop by at least one level or more.

thankfully they made it so easy to ask for scouting reports that its moreso an annoyance. Sifting through my emails to find International signings is a bitch tho.

Can you guys find any of your players, Pitchers or Batters, where an OSA rating is way off from your scout?
Like a HR Rating of 70 compared to 12?
If so, can you send me (slack preferably) or post a screen shot of it?

Why? The way the game is supposed to work is OSA is supposed to be off, sometimes by a stupid amount, sometimes not by much. OSA should never be anywhere near accurate IMO though.

At the same time the scouts, whether OSA or your own scout, should be able to tell if a guy has power like Bo Jackson or Ozzie Smith. I get it can be off, but it should never be that far off.

And in my post, someone asked to see a picture of a player where it is that far off, so I am trying to find some.

I did a quick look on 21 and didn't see anyone. figured HS would be where it would be the widest margins.

Same here George, I am wondering if it is fixed in OOTP21?

have you guys done research on preseason MLB (OSA) Top 100 prospect pools and how those players finish the year? Have you ever watched preseason shows and see their top 10 at x position or preseason predictions? I bet you might be surprised how inaccurate they are.

So it has been confirmed that this should not be an issue like it was in previous versions.

Here is more information on scouting:
The scouting director runs automatically. You really don’t even need to request reports unless you want to scout a specific player at any given time.
Unless you don’t put any money into minor league scouting, players in your organization will always have the higher scouting accuracy than player from other teams and leagues. I’m not sure if they reach their accuracy faster since they are in your organization or not but unless a player is fairly new to your org, he won’t be too low of an accuracy. This is very noticeable as you progress in your save. Now with accuracy being able to degrade, if you do not put any resources into minor league scouting, then yea your accuracy for your minor league team will suffer if reports aren’t coming in as frequently. Yes coaches at those levels work with players and know the players but how many of them are doing written reports and handing them in to the scouting director? It’s true that some coaches at that level double as scouts but OOTP doesn’t have a full coaching system. Spending money on development and scouting represents those resources of extra coaching and other tools needed for these areas.

Being in a dynasty league for the last 6+ years has shown that for sure. That crap fluctuates a ton. It’s infuriating sometimes

Nice little new glitch I noticed this morning. Some of my players are accumulating stats during ST, some are not.

I noticed that when I looked at my pitching staff. This has been a mess of a rollout. I know we were all ready to be off of 20 but next year we should probably wait a month before upgrading.
