Re: Politics and stuff
Both sets of criminals being discussed should be prosecuted to the fullest extent, they're all complete scum. You guys can argue who is scummier all you want, but you can't with a straight face deny that they're all scum.
Re: Politics and stuff
Exactly. Gotta condemn it on both sides.
It’s like the classic movie fight. First it’s fists and kicks. Then one finds a crowbar. Then on finds a knife, then a gun etc
While I find the events of Wednesday abhorrent, obviously, the fact that anyone on the left is surprised that the right took their moves and upped the ante is downright baffling.

Re: Politics and stuff
Not arguing who is "scummier" at all. I've said they both should have the book thrown at them.
Jsence comes across as it being okay to burn the buildings down because they were doing it for a righteous cause (against police brutality) while completely condemning other criminals. It's a typical far left democrat move here. Hell, even Crowes doesn't stump to that

Re: Politics and stuff
Please show me where I said it was ok to burn down buildings (which, again, happened...a couple of times? But keep throwing that one out there).GeorgesGoons wrote: ↑Thu Jan 14, 2021 9:37 amNot arguing who is "scummier" at all. I've said they both should have the book thrown at them.

You're acting like someone punching someone is just as bad as someone raping someone.
And given the filings in court today, from the federal prosecutors, the reports were true: there was a coordinated effort to not only attack the Capitol, but to kidnap and execute elected officials because they didn't like that their emperor was defeated.
So please, for the last time, stop comparing the two things. There is no comparison. One was an attack on a building--and that was wrong. The other was a direct attack on our democracy--and that is insanely wrong.
When you have an example of an attack on our actual Constitution, our federal government, and our way of life that has come from "both sides", let me know. Until then, there is no comparison to be made, there is no "both sides" argument here.

Cool, they're all scum.
Ruining people's livelihoods and businesses they've owned for 30 years and giving them no clue what they're going to do going forward, there's no need to downplay that in any way, it takes complete scum of the Earth to do that.
Also, were you joking when you claimed it was only a "couple of buildings" that were destroyed or burned? It was literally the most destructive protest in American history in terms of property damage.

Re: Politics and stuff
As I alluded to.....he downplays the riots this summer because he believes in the reason for the protests and that the riots were just a byproduct of said protests, but condemns the same exact actions (minus looting and burning buildings down) of the right.shel311 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 15, 2021 2:30 pm Cool, they're all scum.

And one of the guys they arrested was an ANTIFA member in the capital building. John Sullivan of Utah is the name

Re: Politics and stuff
The best part about that one is that people on FB were posting that he was inciting violence, and the FB fact checkers were quick to flag those posts, then he was arrested for inciting violence.GeorgesGoons wrote: ↑Fri Jan 15, 2021 4:45 pm And one of the guys they arrested was an ANTIFA member in the capital building. Re: Politics and stuff
When ppl trash Antifa, are they admitting they’re Fascist?
Fascism (/ˈfæʃɪzəm/) is a form of far-right, authoritarian ultranationalism characterized by dictatorial power, forcible suppression of opposition and strong regimentation of society and of the economy which came to prominence in early 20th-century Europe.
Y’all support this? I would assume everyone in here is Antifa. Hate to break to you

That's not really how it works, but ok

That’s literally how it works. Antifa = Anti Fascism
People are afraid in that ideology that the peanut brains on the right will try and turn this into a dictatorship which they fucking did by making up shit that the election was rigged and trying to make Trump president. That’s the start of absolute power.

Are you for or against being proud?
Again, that's not how it works. You're either dumbing it down on purpose or it's just a dumb point, 1 of the 2.

Re: Politics and stuff
Proud boys are a group made up by former liberal vice member Gavin McInnis who wanted a place to hang with dudes and shoot the shit. I’m sure you knew that tho
Re: Politics and stuff
A lot of the destruction was windows being broken, looting, etc. There wasn't a single building that even came close to being set on fire here in Louisville. The only fires, in fact, were random things set on fire in the middle of a street a handful of times (like a trash can or a shirt).shel311 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 15, 2021 2:30 pm Cool, they're all scum.

And again, property can be rebuilt. Insurance covers losses. Nobody was trying to burn down buildings with people inside. THAT would have been comparable to what happened last Wednesday.

Re: Politics and stuff
There were numerous stories of insurances not covering damages for businesses and people's lives being ruined but I guess some people think their are valid excuses for that type of scum.jsence2 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 15, 2021 10:45 pmA lot of the destruction was windows being broken, looting, etc. There wasn't a single building that even came close to being set on fire here in Louisville. And again, most property damage from any riot... ever. Not sure why you're trying to downplay it with the Louisville reference, most ever.

Re: Politics and stuff
The amount of blatant bullshit being spit out in here is crazy. It's one thing to have a distorted view, but holy shit, this is some kind of fantasy world stuff.
No one tried to burn a building down with someone in it? Are you f'n kidding me? They literally barricaded officers in a station and tried it.
Only a couple buildings were burnt? I guess we watched different mostly peaceful protests. By mid-June 12 full structures were completely burned down in Minneapolis alone. Those structures housed multiple small businesses in each.
By mid-summer, estimated damage of the Floyd protests were ~$2B.
If you wondered why I didn't bother thoroughly reading and replying a lot this week (other than being slammed with work), it's because nearly everything I looked at was some next level bullshit like this. There's zero sense in trying to have a conversation when this kind of ludicrous stuff is being tossed around as fact.
