Is that USA's favorite ref over there subbing guys in and out?

Yes, it is. I saw his name on the sheet and said "oh shit" but luckily, he gets to do nothing more than hold up the board lol.

And that's about all he'll get to do the rest of the way :D

New Zealand's goalie may have just won himself a big contract at a top flight European league club. He had a terrific performance.

What'd I miss? I didn't think France played today.

I think he was using the WC Talk thread to talk about how much of a disgust France players have been in this years Cup.

Not actual games going on.

I could be wrong though.

they all hate the coach

they stopped practicing

granted, it probably proves Anelka was onto something saying what he said but you can't just stop practicing and basically give up during the world cup. imagine spending all that money to support your country and then find out your team refused to train

France players talking back to their coach. One got sent home

Now I think others are bitching and moaning lol

They are embarrassing their country. They suck anyway.

I heard about Anelka being sent home for yelling at his coach which is nuts to me. Must be a soccer thing.

But otherwise, I didn't know where Dave's post is coming from since I hadn't heard anything else.

As much as I hate the French, it's the first show of solidarity as a team they've had since they arrived in South Africa

If my teammate was sent home and we all felt it was wrong, I would hope we would take a stand as well. The French are protesting Anelka's expulsion.

Dominech should've been fired two years ago. It's the French Federation's fault this has happened the way it has.

I'd need to know the details before running the team out of the country. Without knowing, I'd probably be more pressed to say the coach should never coach again before the players not playing.

take a stand, sure.

stop training and blow up the story even further and cause more embarrassment to your nation... no way.

it was so pointless to send a lame duck coach to the world cup.

Was watching this on my phone this morning at the bagel and coffee place (Italy v NZ). Loved the back and forth in the late stages of the game. Finally watched a game with some good passing and chances (I haven't watched all the games so I'm sure I missed other good play, but the games I have seen have usually been pretty ugly).

Wow.

After just seeing video of what happened.....fuck the French. They're getting what they deserve.

Patrice Evra got into an argument with the trainer, and the trainer went off on him while Evra (the CAPTAIN, mind you) stood there with a "fuck you, whatever dude, I'm Patrice Evra" attitude. The trainer had to be held back by the manager and then he flung his credentials and left.

The French are getting their due justice.

This is why Ireland should've fucking been there. Those guys would be playing their hearts out for every last second, and instead a team that didn't deserve to be there, is bitching and crying about a coach and wasting the opportunity that the Ireland guys would've killed for

If the Ivory Coast come out and attack, this could be the best match of the group stages.

IC has a LOT of talent (Drogba, Kalou, Eboue, etc) and we could see goals galore.

SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO glad ESPN got Martin Tyler. One of the worst things about 2006 was having to listen to JP Delecamera and a bunch of baseball guys do the commentating. It was horrid.
