The Huskers don't have the allure for recruits like they did in the 80's and 90's, limit of scholarships and you can watch damn near any team every weekend. That was a big selling point back then when you had maybe 10 games nationally televised each weekend.
Saban is probably the best coach in college football right now, but could he do it outside of the SEC/South?
He did pretty well at Mich St considering how bad they were prior to him coming

I will be one of the few OSU fans that openly admit, we definitely do not deserve to be ranked #1 and I felt when they dropped us, it was right.
You cannot schedule a bunch of cupcake teams and think because you are undefeated that you deserve to be #1.
Now, the next 3 weeks, Michigan State, Michigan and then the B1G Championship, I feel will show if they are worthy or not of being in the playoffs.
We will see if they are up to the challenges. I hope Meyer feeds the Zeke train. He needs 20+ touches in each of the games coming up.

Gotta wonder if Urban knew it was coming, and was keeping zeke "fresh" for this stretch, having seen what he did last year in these games. Wouldn't put it past him.

I must live in an alternate universe. Zeke has touched the ball 19 or more times in all but 1 game. He's exceeded 25 touches in more than half of them. He's had 100yds rushing in every game as well. Neither Henry or Fournette can claim that. If you love the running game, you have to be thrilled watching these 3 monsters every weekend.

I was not complaining. I think he has done a great job feeding him the ball.
I was simply stating he needs to keep it up.
Give Zeke 20+ touches in these big games and I feel like we have a much better chance of winning.

FAU had the ball 1st and goal from the 9 in OT at Florida.
Florida scored first but missed the extra point so a TD and PAT would have won it for FAU. they ran it on first and got stuffed then had 3 passes to the endzone but choked.

Michigan State is out playing the Buckeyes. It has to suck playing in that weather, nothing worst than cold rain and wind. I don't think I would stay at the stadium as a fan

Looks like a lot have left. Between the shitty play and the weather I can't blame anyone for leaving

Tim Beck is horrible, I was surprised that OSU hired him. Buckeyes offense hasn't looked good all year, it's been a bad year passing all year long for them.

It's bad. Real bad.
Congrats Weas. Came in there and smacked them around without Cook even. OSU didn't deserve to even be in that game late. You guys were the better team all game.

So if Clemson, Iowa and Oklahoma St all run, they will be in. Alabama at 12-1 would likely join them. Notre Dame is probably the first 1 loss team in. Oklahoma vs Florida vs Michigan State as 1 loss champions would be fun to figure out.

Either Florida or Alabama will have a second loss seeing as they will have played each other, so at least one of those two will be out.

I actually didn't want you to win because I wanted Navy to knock them off next week (not that they still can't). Hopefully that doesn't piss them off for us!
Good win tho

ReignOnU wrote:So Notre Dame is sitting @ #4 in the playoff discussion. Trying to be unbiased as a fan is tough. Part of me says that this is a team that has battled through some crazy stuff (starting QB and RB gone most of the year) and their only loss is to the #1 team in the country, on the road, on a failed 2pt conversion with time expiring. That's pretty impressive stuff. The other side of me says that they have 1 loss... and Iowa and Oklahoma State do not. If either of those teams go undefeated, I don't think it's right that they wouldn't make the playoffs.
With that said, 1 of OSU / Iowa will have a loss. I assume an undefeated Clemson, 1 loss SEC champ Alabama and undefeated Big 10 champ. The argument comes down to Notre Dame, potentially undefeated Big 12 champ in Ok State or 1 of many 1 loss teams that would be champ, and maybe a 1 loss OSU team, if Iowa beats them (don't see Iowa in the conversation if they lose to OSU).
This is how I'd rank them:
1.) Undefeated Oklahoma State - Big 12 champ
2.) Notre Dame - 1 loss, to #1 team in the country
3a.) Ohio State - 1 loss Big 10 champ
3b.) Michigan State - 1 loss Big 10 champ
4.) Any 1 loss Big 12 champ
I also think that if Ohio State closes out undefeated, that they should be the #1 ranked team. Finishing 3-0 vs Michigan State, Michigan and Iowa would be quite impressive.
All of my ND homerism assumes that they don't get caught by BC (no reason they should) and that they get a big win at Stanford (definitely going to be a battle)
How can you leave out the Clemson team that beat Notre Dame?!

Thanks, but I didn't do shit

Good win for the team, best I've seen the defense play all season, played well enough to pitch a shutout if not for the two fumbles. Held OSU under 150 yards... Damn
