Pre O'Connor Curse

My point was, his hand is not empty, he has 1.
And JD knows a little something about empty hands...

Out of curiosity, why do you think it would create more?

I have no idea. Never have played around with the stars. But in my mind it seems with there only being 1 through 5 instead of 20 through 80 it would level out a little more between all the scouts.

I maybe overthinking it, but it's based on 5 stars.

So a guy who has 4 out of 5 stars, that's on par with a 64 rating, give or take, right? But given we don't have a definite number, he could be a 59 or a 71 at that thing he's rated 4 stars, if I understand it correctly.

But yea, it would probably level it out with the scouts. I just think we'd see more variance in terms of how good a player actually is vs his rating.

I don't mess with it much, but I'll do my own franchise with each new version of OOTP that comes out. I've tried the stars in the past, and I just can't get into it.

It's really just that we're so used to it like it is. I'm guessing if we had done the stars since 2010, I'd think going to the numbers was weird and couldn't do it nowadays.

But it would definitely create more variance, much more IMO.
I hate the star system. Honestly its no different than having a 2.5 star guy play as well as a 5 star guy. It makes scouting harder in my opinion, especially in he draft.

That makes sense. But now that has me wondering if it would actually be beneficial, at least in how I handle things scouting wise. I've seen guys in FA or the draft that met the criteria of what I was looking for in a hitter but then I'd see their POT was in the 50's or lower, for example, and would move on just due to my brain saying "NO! You must get a green or blue POT guy"

According to my scout, Boston has 22 total players 25 and under with blue potential.

The rest of the league combined has 70.

well of the 80 potentials by my scout 25 and under... corey has 8 of 10.
granted has only 6 of the 49 other blues but that's still a bit insane.

we probably need to listen to nick and just fully cut him off.
