Just hired a new scout.
For the first time in my OOTP history, I have a scout that is not a Highly Favors Tools one.

Thank you to OCD and SF for allowing Houston to go 6-1 during opening week...on the road. As bad as we have been for so long, we REALLY appreciate it.

Re: 2069 Season Thread... The Herro We Needed
I have to say it was nice taking 2 of 3 from Richmond in the first week at their home. Got to see some of my former prospects as well.

Maybe I should also thank wdoupis for enforcing a very simple rule that caused SF to pissy and to purposely throw 2 out of 3 games. Much appreciate, bossRanDawg wrote:Thank you to OCD and SF for allowing Houston to go 6-1 during opening week...on the road. As bad as we have been for so long, we REALLY appreciate it.

We heard a buzz coming from the New England batters. Need to have it checked out
Re: 2069 Season Thread... The Herro We Needed
He's right on this. I had an export that didn't go through. I was obviously mad, but I didn't blame him. I think the only thing I got mad about was the OD roster was a total mess (not blaming him for it either, because as someone who does sims in another league, it's a massive pain in the ass to set someone else's roster). I know way better from other leagues too to never wait til the day off to do stuff (roster cuts, Rule V protect, extensions, stuff like that).wdoupis wrote:I think the last guy who got fined was Roggie and I talk to him quite a bit and he is the first one I go to when there is some weird OOTP issue as he has a ton of knowledge and works with the OOTP beta team. The rule is the rule. I know you always think you are the victim and I knew you'd react this way but the rule is quite simple, its extremely effective, and I'd enforce it on anyone.
Moral of the story: Sucks, but it's told to EVERYONE for a week. No excuses. It's on one person and one person only.
Re: 2069 Season Thread... The Herro We Needed
Have done multiple times. HIgh end guys should NOT have major variances. I get a random player that one scout thinks is great while others don't (and doesn't have the stats to match it or plays against super weak competition, like a Joey Votto in real life), but top 10 projected guys should never be seen as a 20/30 by some scouts.The_Niddler wrote:wdoupis wrote:I think the last guy who got fined was Roggie and I talk to him quite a bit and he is the first one I go to when there is some weird OOTP issue as he has a ton of knowledge and works with the OOTP beta team.
Had no idea Roggie works with the beta team.
Roggie, tell them to fix this shit with the scout variances.
As has been mentioned several times, I get that 1 scout may see a player as a 20/80 potential and then another will see him as a 20/65 potential.
Or maybe the HR hitting where 1 scout may see a guy as having HR potential as 75 and the next sees him as having HR potential as 60, but how in the hell does one scout see him having HR potential as 75 and another will see him as having 3?
I mean, you know if a guy is a HR hitter or not. I get that not every scout will rate his HR potential as the exact same number, but it has to be closer than what the game does.
I definitely don't think 60 to 75 potential for one stat is a huge difference, especially on the 1-100 scale, but it's the 1 for one person and 78 for another that is absolutely insane.

Re: 2069 Season Thread... The Herro We Needed
Utterly stupid. I remember the 3nd draft i was in in this league, 3 of the top 4 picks were 35 potential or lower according to my scout, and basically everyone else's scout likes them. Insane.shel311 wrote:Drives me nutsRoggie wrote: but it's the 1 for one person and 78 for another
