This aired on Saturday before the Buckeye game on Fox Sports. Me and Troy got hired in the same class. Brave little kid. They don't say this in the video, but Grant for about 4-5 days prior to them taking him to the ER, he would be outside playing and would just vomit for no reason. They kept asking him if he felt sick and he kept telling them no. It was a Sunday, Troys wife called him at the station at 6am (shift change at 7am). She explained to Troy that Grant had woke up, he had some facial droop and had another vomiting episode and he speech wasn't normal. Troy told his wife to take Grant to the hospital and he would meet her there. They don't say this in the video either, but the doctors intially told them that the prognosis was very grim. 2 days later after alot of tests they were told that turmor didn't have any tentacles (good news if there's good news in a scenerio like this) Surgery was scheduled a couple of days later. The tumor was right next to his brain stem. They told Troy and Denise that the surgery would last about 10hrs, it lasted almost 17. That was a long day as I'm sure any of you can imagine. He was hospitalized for a very long time before he could come home and after he was home no visiters due to his decreased immune system. Anyhow just some back ground. Grant's a little fighter and extremely brave. He went through many bouts of chemo and radiation, and almost after each chemo treatment he would get re admitted to Columbus Childrens because his blood counts were low. he remained upbeat and positive even on the darkest's of days.

More background, Grant ofcourse as you see in the video is a huge Ohio State fan. Ofcourse his mom and dad met while in the Marching band at Ohio State. So getting to meet Eddie George was awesome for Grant. They said Eddie was at the house most of the day when they filmed the segment. Eddie arranged Grant and his family front row seats for the skull session (pregame prep rally at St. Johns arena the old basketball gym for the Bucks before the Schott was opened) and Grant was honored during it also. Also, Troy said they had no idea Archie was going to present Grant with his own set of gold pants. (Each player gets a set if they beat Michigan. Its a big tradition at Ohio State) Apparently Eddie George set that all up. The kicker, Brady Hoke called a couple of days after Eddie was at there house to film the segment back in the summer, talked with Troy and Denise and Grant. He asked them if they would like to attend the OSU/UM game as his guest. (Class act Michigan and Brady Hoke)

I rambled a little, but this kid has been through alot in the past 14 months.

Man that was good and sad all at the same time. Amazing

I see this everyday in my profession and no matter how bad my day may be going,I tell myself to shut up after seeing how positive and full of life people with cancer are.

Cool story Matt. Sounds like a special little kid. I'm not an emotional guy, but those espn special interest stories on kids and how sports or idols help get them through tough times always gets me to the verge.

Bo is done in Nebraska. Tells Tommie Frazier to basically go fuck himself. Now a recording of him telling the fans to go fuck themselves (literally) comes out. Happy days!

Matt, that's a truly heartwarming story. Won't lie, brought a tear to my eye. Glad the kid is doing better and is having some dreams come true after such an awful ordeal.

AJ, I'd heard about that but hadn't seen it. I'd be livid if I were Wisky.

I always wonder why defenses arent flagged for delay of game when I see them hold down offensive players/slow the game when the offense is running a 2 minute drill. Those refs absolutely shit on that last sequence

No doubt. Fans are tired of embarrassing losses on national tv though and this is just what they needed to get rid of him.

Yea, it was awkward.

He did take a knee, I think he was placing the ball down to have it spotted quicker. Solid thinking, but it backfired.

I dont think his knee ever touched down, did it?

Still is a ridiculous blown call but again, take a definitive knee.

Already the Pac 12 has come out saying the ref staff was in the wrong here.
"This was an unusual situation to end the game," said Pac-12 Commissioner Larry Scott. "After a thorough review, we have determined that the officials fell short of the high standard in which Pac-12 games should be managed. We will continue to work with all our officials to ensure this type of situation never occurs again."

If they didn't feel like he downed the ball then wouldn't it have been ruled a fumble? :|
