"We wanted to beat them by 50 for disrespecting us.... We wanted to crush them. They should've just kept their mouth shut and it probably wouldn't have been like that"
"Our mentality was to kill them. And that's what we did"
Like I said, the dude from WVU was an absolute idiot, and I'm sure his teammates aren't thrilled with him.

You don't truly believe that had an effect on the game, no way you do.
You would be arguing that your team, in the Sweet 16, wouldn't have had enough motivation to play at max effort, that's absurd.

Unfortunately... I believe they'll be missing quite a few in their next game. Still gonna root them on!

I always hope it will change but he continues to act like an 8 year old fan. It's no reason BB NATION won a mythical title in bleacher reports worst fan base in the country. Could you imagine an arena full of Jason's?

Sadly, just Kentucky. If they play to their potential I don't think any one team can match up. Wisconsin probably has the length but they would need to be on fire all game to keep up.

I guess their tweets after the game showed they weren't listening, too.
And Pat, you have no room to talk about anybody being a hardcore fan, ever. Get off my nuts.

If the WVU kid never said anything, the UK players would have moved on to the next thing to motivate them.
It's amazing that you'd think UK wasn't going to give max effort until those quotes came about, then that angered them to a level that would make them give max effort.
You're basically saying the kid's quotes motivate them more then trying to go for an undefeated season.
I'd say if you think this, you're basically admitting your team isn't always trying their hardest, so I'd assume you'd be frightened of that fact heading into these final 3 games, knowing one of these better teams could beat your team because your team isn't always out there trying their hardest, unless some dude says some disrespectful stuff about them.

Shel, which of us has watched UK 37 times this season, you or me? Would you agree that I might be a bit more familiar with this team than you?
There HAVE been games where they haven't given max effort. Lots of them. Cincy game was one of them. They get bored at times. They know they can win on talent alone, and they know they can turn it on at any time. It's why they had close calls with teams they should have blown out. He was RIGHT in what he said. Quite a few games this season, they go through the motions, and then they turn it on for the last 10 min or so and run the other team out of the building.
My point was, if you know that, YOU DON'T SAY IT!!!! You go out there and try to work harder than them and hope to pull the upset.
As for the next few games....there's a difference in getting up for the teams you know could beat you (ND, Wisky, Arizona, etc) like they did against Kansas, and maybe thinking talent alone will win the day vs a team like WVU that isn't on your level. When someone runs their mouth to them and calls them lazy, well....it's human nature to take that specific jab to heart, whether it's at work, at home, etc.

None of those were of this magnitude, sweet 16 games.

That frightens you as a fan, correct?

Of course it's human nature, but it doesn't mean you'll try harder.

Find three posts where I'm remotely the fan boy you are.
I can find three from you just in two pages of this thread. I'm not the only one that sees it either. It's gone beyond annoying a long, long time ago. It's all laughable nkw and fun to read. The fact your defending this thing you're defending now is laughable. But keep it up, keeps me entertained during movie day today in class.

Hey Jason, take your own advice and step away from the keyboard. Don't ever make comments to others that express their support for their teams because as I told you in the NFL thread, you are the biggest homer on here.

This is the dumbest statement on this page. You really think his teammates are saying if he hadn't said anything they wouldn't have gotten beaten as badly? If one of my teammates said something like this it wouldn't matter one way or another to me. I'm playing my game regardless and if we get beaten its because we weren't good enough. Not because of anything anybody said.
