NFL Thread
Re: NFL Thread
They need to get there first. I do not consider him elite now but if they win two in a row with him only in the league 3 years... He would definitely be in the conversation.

So sarcastically saying "he's not elite though", you mean what?cougnix wrote:I never said he was elite

I did.cougnix wrote:I'm just saying that everyone says he isn't but nobody can argue why he isn't
Is Flacco elite?
I know you mentioned just the nucleus, but I still think this is a bad comparison. The Packers cannot win if Rodgers doesn't play well, he is their team. Wilson is awesome, but they certainly can win if he plays 1 or 2 bad games, even in the playoffs.cougnix wrote: But comparing the nucleus of the Seattle offense to the Packer offense
On that note, I have no idea how good Nelson and Cobb are, to be honest, since they play with the best QB I've ever seen play the game.

Re: NFL Thread
I agree that he is not elite just because he wins 2 out of 3 Super Bowls.
I think that just means he has 1 hell of a team around him.
Stats are what makes a QB elite. Super Bowl victories plays into that, but I feel you cannot just go by Super Bowl victories.
If you do, then you are saying Marino is not one of the greatest to ever play the QB position cause he didn't win a Super Bowl.
And great example using Flacco shel. I was going to go there.
No way he is in the same conversation as Rodgers, Brees, Brady, Montana, Elway, Manning, Favre, etc. Those are elite QB's. Hall of Famers or future Hall of Famers.
While Wilson is good, just not at that level yet in my opinion.

Isnt "elite" itself a subjective term? This argument is dumb.

Weasel isn't elite.
Re: NFL Thread
Point is you are comparing to guys that have been in the league longer. Russell is still on a 3rd Round draft pick contract...shel311 wrote:So sarcastically saying "he's not elite though", you mean what?cougnix wrote:I never said he was elite![]()

But we're comparing how good he is now to how good everyone else is right now, nothing more.cougnix wrote:Point is you are comparing to guys that have been in the league longer. Russell is still on a 3rd Round draft pick contract...
I do think Andrew Luck with this season he has put together is now in elite company with the other guys. I think he was annointed too soon as there was no elite argument before this season, but some folks did what you're doing now and were projecting out, knowing he would be elite, but that didn't mean he was already elite.

And Rex Ryan is the new coach of the Bills. I think it's a good opportunity for him and the Bills. They had a solid defense last season but they've got to get someone who can throw the ball a little.Cnasty wrote:John fox and Denver "parting ways"

So pretty much the exact situation that got him fired in New YorkLetsGoPeay wrote:And Rex Ryan is the new coach of the Bills. I think it's a good opportunity for him and the Bills. Re: NFL Thread
football is way too hard of a sport to analyze individually. way too many moving parts. great players can be masked by shitty lines and vice versa.

The good old field goal from the half yard line in a scoreless, 1st quarter game.
My head just exploded.
