The Bust Zion had a cool 28/7/6 on 12 of 14 shooting tonight.
And did this:

But I thought Lebron and them would be crushed in the 90s?? They’d get hand checked and all that laughable bullshit most of you believe

I think KG is an idiot.
I think athletes would be able to adapt.
Now, sure, if you take an average athlete from 20 years ago and throw him directly in, he would struggle initially, because the game has changed, but I think if someone is an athlete with enough talent to play at the highest level, give them time to adapt and they will.

Re: NBA Thread
I mean, its like saying that Babe Ruth wouldn't be the same today in baseball.
Well, no shit!
At least at first.
He never saw a forkball, a screwball. Back then, pitchers threw 3 pitches: fast balls, curve balls, and changeups and maybe a sinker now and then.
They didnt pitch junk back then.
But give him time to adapt and I am willing to bet he would have and still be a fantastic home run hitter.
But it is also why pitchers back then could throw a ton of innings and there were no pitch counts or anything.
Hell, when I started playing little league in 1979, there were no pitch counts for us.
You pitched and if the coach wanted you the next day, he asked if your arm was feeling good, if so, you pitched again. It was up to the coach and your parents if you were allowed to pitch.
Or I think about Pete Rose. If you have never heard it, look it up, but he talked about how he was literally able to see the threads on a baseball as it was coming in when he was batting. And by that, he knew what pitch was coming.
But he also talked about how the Major leagues were easier than college or the minors, because you faced the same pitchers over and over and over again. So he learned their pitches and what they looked like and knew what was coming and how to hit it.
If he could do that back then, he could do it today. It would just take him some time to adapt.
But good athletes will always be good athletes and they would always be able to adapt and overcome.
Back to KG's comments, so are you telling me that Alex Caruso is a better athlete than MJ? #GetTheFuckOuttaHere!

Re: NBA Thread
This guys voice is annoying, but it is interesting to hear the numbers from each decade for the averages in basketball:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mqNA5EL ... nel=treese
Age, Weight, Height, FG%, Free Throw %, Points Per Game and Race really hasn't moved that much since the 1960's.

Re: NBA Thread
That’s exactly what ppl in here say. Who’s making shit up? Apparently 6’6 PFs in 1990 would stop Lebron cause they slap your wrists like Lebron isn’t a 6’8 genetic freak who could also hand check the 90s players skin right off their bones. But ya.

Re: NBA Thread
Lebron would have zero problems playing with a more physical era of basketball. Now, Curry may have an issue, but he would remind me of Reggie Miller with the off ball movement and his ability to catch and shoot. He probably won't get any soft bumps coming around screens though

Re: NBA Thread
i'd love for you to dig up a quote from anyone here who said Lebron specifically couldn't have handled the physicality of 20-25 years ago

Re: NBA Thread
Agree!
Talk to me when he shoots outside the paint. Shawn Kemp.......
I will admit, he has been better than I thought he would be. Still don't see him as a HOF type guy...just some all star appearances is all

Man, just hold the L and walk away on this one. Kemp averaged 20 per game 1 season... barely... he was about 30 playing in Cleveland with a couple of big men and no real scorers, so he got to feast.
On top of that, Kemp was a sub .500 career FG%, couldn't shoot at all beyond the arc less than 2 assists per game. They aren't even remotely the same player and Zion is already significantly better. (this coming from someone with an actual gaming name influenced by him)
His best comparison coming in is that he was very similar to Blake Griffin, imo. The difference was, Blake had to learn to shoot the 3. Zion can shot it, he just doesn't within that offense. Same reason he wasn't really crashing the boards hard... he wasn't supposed to. When you're shooting +60% on 2s, that means you'd need to shoot 40% or better on 3s. Interesting enough... even though he hasn't shot many 3s, that's right where he sits. But I'm sure they understand that he's more like a 35% 3pt shooter.
If you're argument is that for some reason he's supposed to have a 12'-16' mid-range game, that's kind of silly. Why? The 2 most efficient areas are in the paint and beyond the arc... it's been proven multiple times.
Could he blow out a knee or ankle and seriously hurt his career? Of course. But so far, he's more than proven worthy.
