i think you hit on all points.
in situations like these, its irrelevant and maybe even helpful.
in the playoffs when the game gets broken down to a finer level when a team can actually punch back he's going to probably be in situations where he needs to hit them. if Cleveland is hitting 3's in the finals tho, it might not matter. offensively in the postseason they've been other worldly.

Saw a post on facebook that said that since 2000 every team in the West has played in the Western Conference Finals except New Orleans and LA Clippers.

I am not a good judge of that as you can tell from past post history.
Dave is 5'9 to me and he states he is like 6'1.
