Still need the sprayer though which goes for about $50-$100 at Lowes or HomeDepot.
Let's hope 3 gallons will be enough and get this started in the next month or 2 lol.

IMO... looks like shit IRL.
There's a speed shop about a mile from my house that I drive by every day and the owner has a dipped CTSV. It looks hideous.

It looks good when you use the glossifier as I am not a fan of the matte finish when you are talking about the entire car.
And Shel, I priced it out yesterday.
I would buy the spray gun from Harbor Freight for $47. It is a professional car sprayer. I already have an air compressor, if not, another $100ish at Harbor Freight.
And while the $150 is the same price as buying the sprayer unit from dipyourcar.com, if you buy the air compressor separately, you can use it for other things.
The paint, if you do the 4 gallon set, It says $220, but it really depends on the colors you want, some cost more, the glossifier cost more.
So if I do this:
1 gallon of White - Used for 2 coats as a base coat on the car.
2 gallons of Gunmetal Grey - Used for 2-4 coats of the actual color you want
1 gallon of Glossifier - Used for 1-2 coats to give it a glossy finish. You can add in pearls or metal flakes if you choose to.
But that would be $228.
And I think it looks good when you put the glossifier on it.
Here is a video of a car with the colors I want.
Fonzi from dipyourcar does tons of videos on youtube.
Right around the 6 1/2 minute mark, he starts spraying the car.
At 7:55, he starts spraying the glossifier.
At 8:50 you can see the finished product.
At 10:11, they go around the car closer up so you can see the finish.

No gloss for me, I want the matte black.
But it all sounds like quite the undertaking I'm not sure I'll go through with or spend money on my 7 year old car...though the only actual issue with my car is the paint in the back looks horrific, so this would be logical.

If I do this, it will be on a 1996 Honda Accord that I got from my wife's grandmother that is gold in color.
I hate the current color and for under $300, I can change the color for about 3 years.
They say this holds up for about 3 years.
Sorry the images are so large.
This is not mine, but exactly what it looks like now:
And I am not going to do a body kit or anything, but here is what it would roughly look like color wise:

Was that a SHO running behind you? I don't think it is due to the chrome around the grill, but was just wondering.

It is my brother's SHO. I couldn't get away from him if I was trying. All wheel drive with the track package and 375hp makes for a sporty mountain runner. He is sending it to Hennessey performance and boosting it to 445 hp next month.

Those are sick. I got one as a rental from avis this summer. Drove hwy 1 from San Fran to Monterrey. It was a beast of a sedan.

SHO's are no joke.
Like Oracle said, you boost it up to 445 hp and it is AWD, it will move and hug the road.

Yeah. It's nice. It is loaded and has every creature comfort you could want. Heated, air conditioned seats with shiatsu massagers built in to the seat and back are the absolute best when going on a road trip.

There is no turbo lag at all which really surprised me when I drove it. Right now I can get him in the quarter mile. From the dig he'll jump out ahead of me but I'll run him down. From a rolling start I'll take him pretty easily. Once he boosts to 445 I won't stand a chance. I'll have to get a supercharger. As far as road racing, I'm already beefing up my suspension with lowering springs and performance shocks and struts. So much more goes into that though since I'll have to get lower control arm relocation brackets to line up the drive shaft correctly and an adjustable pan-hard bar to line up the rear axle. Some people just throw on lowering springs and call it a day. They don't realize what that does to your car's drive train.

What is the hp on your car now Oracle?

I'm at around 430 at the crank and probably putting about 390 to the wheels. I haven't dyno'ed it but with the tune I have on it those are the numbers reported. 385 lbs of torque helps though. When I do supercharge it I'll be looking at around 575 hp at 7 psi boost. These motors are supposed to be good up to 650 hp on stock internals. I'm not a big track guy but I do like breaking the tires loose now and again.

I think its worth it for you if you plan to keep the car a little longer.
Or just wait a couple years and you will be taking my Charger by then anyways.

Engine-wise, the Charger seems to be in great shape, so I don't mind keeping it for another 2 or so years, but I would like to trade it when it has at least a little value, so not much longer.
And as of now, i'm 99.99% certain I'll be in the market for another black Charger so...
