if he plays this yr and 3 more, Cruz would still void 48 mil of his 120 mil contract. No player would do that that would be so dumb. But the thing is Cruz isnt gonna play 4 more total years. He dropped from a 77 to a 44 in 1 yr, I can only imagine where hes gonna go next yr and then maybe, 1 more year. Hes gonna avoid about 50% of his contract minimum. In real life he wouldntshel311 wrote:What if Cruz sticks around 3 or 4 more seasons, then retires? Re: 2024 - Season - Go Time! (Ready 7/26)
look at Arod in real life. Dude is nearly broken in terms of ability and he still wants to play, so much so hes a distraction. Why? Cause hes making like 25-27 mil/yr. Why retire and void all that? Thats why the Yanks pray he'll get a lifetime ban so they can void his contract cause hes not leaving til its bought out or it expires.
Re: 2024 - Season - Go Time! (Ready 7/26)
Gil Meche first google response, retired at 32 with 12 million guaranteed left, plus any money he would have gotten in future contracts. It's happened, but you know all. So I'll leave it at that.nick wrote:if he plays this yr and 3 more, Cruz would still void 48 mil of his 120 mil contract. No player would do that that would be so dumb. Ya its such a common thing business insider made an article called "Why did Gil Meche throw 12 million dollars away?"Bernie32 wrote:Gil Meche first google response, retired at 32 with 12 million guaranteed left, plus any money he would have gotten in future contracts. http://www.businessinsider.com/why-did- ... ion-2011-1
and youre comparing a 32 yr old and 12 mil to a 39 yr old retiring and leaving 60+ mil and then you have the nerve to say "i know it all".. This is like simple business.
Re: 2024 - Season - Go Time! (Ready 7/26)
by the way, for the record, I dont appreciate the "you know it all" comment. When I enjoy something, I educate myself on it and research and learn it. Guess what? Simulated leagues is somethign I enjoy. I posted a link to a league I was in when I was 12! So to say "i know it all" would probably be due to the fact that more than 50% of my life I've devoted tons of personal time to playing simulated games and in the process have learned a lot of things. So I'm sorry that it comes off like "i know it all" its more just experience I suppose.
Re: 2024 - Season - Go Time! (Ready 7/26)
because you completely ignore 1) the other end of the spectrum (my Ando point) and 2) extenuating circumstances.
Yes, simple business. You don't leave that much money on the table. In most cases! But IF Cruz retires and leaves 60 million on the table. He has already earned first year money, I think it was around 5 or so, 110 million, plus 60 on this. 175 million earned, 60 left on table. Did Meche earn more than 40 million, cause that would be roughly the ratio. I don't know, but I think the 12 million Meche left on the table hurt him financially more than the 60 would Cruz. And the article you posted, did it have Meche's response? He said (paraphrasing) "I want to earn the contract". All I am saying is you can't blanket statement everything and say this would never ever happen, because stuff does happen whether you deem it realistic or not.
And I am trying to find the post, but Reign posted it the very first sim when the extension was signed in the news section of the upload update. Something in the lines of "The most ridiculuos extension ever" in regards to your statement of you are bringing it up three seasons after because no one knew about it.

So Reign saying its the most ridiculous contract hes ever seen helps your argument how?
Re: 2024 - Season - Go Time! (Ready 7/26)
lol...
I posted because you guaranteed if it was known. Well, it was known and has been known and you are bringing it up 3 seasons laternick wrote: For the record, I'm not calling you out. I'm calling the contract out. In this game we sign players and no one knows because theres no media and its a sim, but in real life every single contract is said to the media and everyone knows. I guarantee if this was known the moment you signed it people woulda said stuff.

okay fair enough.

Does anyone know or remember where or when abouts that post was made showing where all the teams resided? I think it was a pic of the US with dots and shit on it.
Texas Outlaws have reportedly put their hat in the ring to make a move.

Or, you can keep sending your scout out on scouting trips for your tops guys during the longer intervals and get ratings more often. I usually send him to my top 7-10 rate players at the start of every month where the scouting report isn't automatic and especially in the off season during the long lay-off.Uuaww wrote:scouting reports:

Re: 2024 - Season - Go Time! (Ready 7/26)
2 things:
1) Shutouts were mentioned a bit ago. My Armando Jiminez threw 16.1 inn in 2 starts of shutout baseball which is a promising site in the SP land of the Outlaw Nation. Although he followed that up with a 4.2 inn start giving up 7 r on 5 h with 6 of those being ER.
2) Does anyone still have last sims emails. I accidently erased a message from Juan Gutierrez (DH) on my ML squad. could someone pm that or just post here if you do
thanks

Go to your team page on the website, you may be able to see it there. Other owners don't get personal e-mails from your players, so there is nothing to post. But it's probably either a complaint about role or he wants to talk extension.kdog36 wrote:2 things:
