I don't think it was a solid fight at all. Rousey was completely outcladsed. I was telling the wife that Ronda looked out of shape at the weigh in. She did nothing but followed Holm instead of cutting the ring off. I thought this was a disaster in the making after watching the first minute

Absolutely a horrible approach from RR. I agree too, Rousey was definitely not in shape like she usually is for a fight. The training that Holm has done with Jon Jones and some of the others in New Mexico was so evident. On one exchange, she threw a really slick punch to elbow combo that landing flush. She also used the teep kick and oblique kicks that Jones has frequently used. Rousey was transferred to the hospital right after the fight. If I had to guess, I would say it's a broken jaw. It could have been from the elbow. I've seen 1 image from the reverse angle of where the TV cameras showed the KO, which shows her jaw pretty jacked up.
There are already a slew of incredible gifs of different moments of the fight. That duck-under from Holm was a thing of beauty. Rousey caught nothing buy air. Of course, that finishing sequence was pretty slick as well.

Potential concussion and split lip that has to be stitched, per press conference.

I watched Douglas/Tyson live on TV years ago, and last night had the same vibe. Holm was in a zone. I also think her striking advantage was huge, but more importantly was her big fight experience. She def wasn't overwhelmed by the moment or the spectacle of it all. She completely dominated the fight. Round 1 could have been scored 10-8 imo. Is there anywhere to find what the judges scored that round?
Holm kinda reminds me of early Machida, really good at keeping distance and judging distance for punches and kicks. Also, pretty good at handling the clinch the few times Rousey was able to grab her and actually taking Rousey down late in Rd 1. Rousey was mentally beaten as well as physically. This was no fluke.

Hopefully all these knuckleheads will stop pretending Ronda could beat up Floyd Mayweather.

This ×1000
She could in a Judo match and that is about it.
I think Ronda needs to switch camps, she isn't getting better, her game planning wad exposed last night. After she couldn't bull rush her way in she was lost, she kept trying it over and over. I remember reading somewhere that her mom said she needed to venture out with new coaches, saying something about her daughter not getting any better and that her current coaches do nothing but praising her rather than pushing her.
Now what does the UFC do with Holm? Ronda has a movie she needs to shoot, do they put the belt on the shelf till July when she could fight again? I think that would be a bad idea, I also think it would be a bad idea for Ronda to get an immediate rematch, she has a lot of work to do. I think if Miesha wins her next fight she should get a shot in late March early April. I actually think Miesha can win against Holm, Ronda is her kryptonite, just like Holm may be Ronda's kryptonite

I think we're going too far to try and blame the refugees for this, IMO.

Pretty pumped to see Frankie Edgar in some relatively big fights again, hoping he can get a title shot down the line again

Not sure why, but I just cannot get into MMA.
I feel this way about almost every match.
I see a good one here and there, but not enough to get me into it.
