Re: NFL Thread
Get outta here Corey with that ACC power conference stuff.
I'll wait one more year to see how he does. Never said I was a guru I go off of what I saw in person, he has a huge arm and doesn't throw a ton of picks but lacks some accuracy at times. We will have to wait and see one more year.

Re: NFL Thread
From what I understand, Duck Dynasty was actually the starter ahead of Bradshaw for a year until he decided he wanted to go do something else besides play football and go to class. Then Bradshaw stepped in.Weasel wrote:And his backup was this guytrendon wrote:Bradshaw went to La Tech? Man, I did not know that.

Trendon, this is from Albert Breer.

7) Safest player? Leonard Williams – the one non-QB you hear trade-up buzz on. But “safest” not always best (i.e. Gallery, Curry, etc.)

Re: NFL Thread
I've been both a Noles and a Bucs fan since 76. I think if you are dead set on picking a QB, no matter what, with the number one pick, you should take Winston. I would much rather them take Williams though. Him and McCoy together would be spectacular. Tampa hasn't had a duo like that since Sapp/McFarland and it is exactly what they need to free up David to make tackles. Shore up the defense before drafting skill players on offense. A good defense will keep you in the game and Glennon is good enough with Jackson and Evans on the outside.
Re: NFL Thread
And here is Fio and Rich C on Williams
1. Tampa Bay
Needs: Quarterback, Offensive Linemen, Defensive End
The Pick Should Be … DE/DT Leonard Williams, USC
The Pick Will Be … QB Jameis Winston, Florida State
Lovie Smith got to a Super Bowl with Rex Grossman at quarterback. Take Leonard Williams, put him next to Gerald McCoy, destroy, destroy, destroy. Jameis? In Tampa Bay? Emboldened by being the first overall pick and with every controversy sliding off of him? What could go wrong?
1. Leonard Williams, USC 6-5, 302
- He’s it, and he could be just scratching the surface. If you’re looking for an ideal defensive tackle prospect in today’s NFL, you want young, quick, smooth, active, and tough enough to hold up and anchor a line. Williams might not be the guy who sits on the nose and is a block of granite for everyone else to work around, but he’s great off the ball and can get into the backfield without a problem. He’s absolutely effortless in how he moves.
- There’s still a little bit of a thought that he might not quite reach the level he’s supposed to – he still needs to get there. He’s still a little bit of a work in progress in terms of technique, and he still has to mature into his body’s full potential, but that’s nitpicking.
Yes or No: He’s the best prospect in the draft, and Tampa Bay will be known as the team that didn’t take him. The scary part is that he could be far, far better once he gets a little bit of seasoning. Once he really figures out the subtle nuances of the position … yeeeeeesh.

I think it changes based on time of year/circumstances. During college basketball season Jason vs Peay/NDL.Wasted Memory wrote:Who do you figure in the NDL has the most back and forth arguments? I'm torn between shell - nick, jsence - peay, and jsence - aj....
Police brutality, Trendon vs everyone
General antagonist: Nick vs Anyone who will take the bait
Shel for the sake of arguing vs Anyone who will play along

Re: NFL Thread
Is anyone really surprised by this?
Re: NFL Thread
I really considered putting it in the not so news worthy news topic.
Re: NFL Thread

I would like the Browns to get Mariota too.
Provided we don't have to give up too much.

I don't think the Browns offer is good enough. I know it's two first round picks, but I've read rumors of other teams being willing to give up 1st's from next year and current players for Mariota.The_Niddler wrote:I would like the Browns to get Mariota too.

I know they said that would be a good starting point for the Brows to discuss with them, then go from there and see what they would want.
Most mock drafts have us taking a WR and then a DT in the first round, so as much as I would like Mariota, it is hard to give up 2 positions that are a good need for our team as well.
