Too many pedophiles and its just creepy bathing your kid outside naked with a garden hose. I agree.dakshdar wrote:And you can't do the outdoor house thing with them when they're real little.

Re: Random Discussions
I saw on Sports Center the other day that the Tampa Bay Lightning starting 5 rival the starting 5 of the Warriors in height. That is nuts considering they gain 4 inches on skates.
Re: Random Discussions
Saw this earlier today. I was mind-f*cked for a few minutes

Going Sky Diving in two weeks. I am not gonna be able to sleep the night before. I am gonna be so fucking scared I really might pee my pants when they open the door.

It is a blast. Once you get up there you will be fine. Unless, of course, you are uncontrollably afraid of heights. At that my question would be: why the hell you doing it?packsyd2284 wrote:Going Sky Diving in two weeks. I am not gonna be able to sleep the night before. I know you can't really compare the two horses but going by just their times, Secretariat would have won by 15-20 lengths. WSJ also has this video with both horses running their races in split screen.Cnasty wrote:The visuals of how Secretariat dominated in the Triple Crown always come back to this video for me.Spoiler!
AP was amazing though. Especially after the race. He was just as calm as he could be with all the people touching him and taking pictures.
I've seen 4 Triple Crown winners and I wonder if it will take as long to see a fifth.

Here's the thing though:
American Pharoah never got pushed. His rider never once had to urge him on, and I honestly am not sure he even used the crop the entire time. Had he been racing Secretariat, that wouldn't have been the case. So it's difficult to compare
That said, AP is a beast of a horse, he's massive. Friend of mine that Dave met last year works for a national publication, and she put out a few photos of him. He's one of the biggest horses I've ever seen.

I said you can't really compare them.
If you watch the video, the rider was using the crop on AP down the stretch. The crop wasn't used at all on Secretariat. Big Red was running by himself and wasn't pushed at all. Interestingly enough, the second place horse in both races finished in about the same time.

Was it? It didn't appear that he did, not sure he even needed to. He was going to win that no matter what.
The only thing I hate is that the field was only 7 horses. Ugh.

I'm deathly afraid of heights. However my boss wants to take the management team on a "team building" exercise. I can't be the one to puss out. Plus I'm sure the rush will be incredible.
Re: Random Discussions
Enjoy Pat! Went about a year ago and like you I'm terrified of heights. Wife thought it was a hilarious way to fuck with me so she booked it without me knowing. They had to physically push me out of the plane

As you can see above its really insane how high you are and how fast you fall. It felt a lot longer than I expected and I was fine up until I stepped on the ledge and looked down. He basically shoved off and that was that
Re: Random Discussions
Yeah. When you step to the door and look down, you definitely have one of those "Holy Shit! I'm actually doing this" moments. Once you are out the door there is nothing to do but enjoy the ride and the view. It is relatively safe considering what you are doing. I mean you are jumping out of a damn plane with all the craziness that involves. But with today's equipment and technology it is as safe as can be expected.

That breed is one of the larger breeds to begin with. Factor in all the work they put in, it's equivalent to an NFL player. They are bred to run, choosing the best bloodlines to get the best 2 year old possible. Just a quick comparison on how the breed is further advanced, they race thoroughbreds starting at 2, we don't even attempt to get on an Arabians back until they are at least 3.jsence2 wrote:OracleHCR wrote:I know you can't really compare the two horses but going by just their times, Secretariat would have won by 15-20 lengths.
