I think you're missing what I'm getting at.

If you can't go negative you would want to make the three picks today (and possibly take underdogs) because if you get them all wrong you're still at 0 units. If you can go negative then that isn't a good plan.

We're doing this based on total units, not win/loss record as far as I can tell, though the system will calculate both.

I guess I'm still not certain how this works overall.

If we bet 100 units today and win 150 units do we start with a balance of 250 units tomorrow? I guess I didn't see a balance line anywhere (or some starting budget)...

Or are we simply looking at profits and we should be making three picks a day to try to win as much as possible?

I think its only win loss since every bet is the same?

Not sure i 100% understand either.

Either way i have my winners in for the day. :D

After some picks posted it is clear that:

1. It is based on profit from an infinite betting wallet.
2. You can have negative total score.
3. You can lose more than 100 units on a bet (but not sure how Mike did it as I only see 100 units in the drop down menu for amounts to bet).
4. There is no benefit to making three total picks every day if you don't have three picks you think will win.

So it's based off profit.

I like it. That way the guys that want to bet nothing but favorites still may not out "profit" some who throw in dogs and crap like that.

To me it just sucks if i actually wager on the ones I play in the contest and we then lose alllllll talk of baseball gambling all year since everyone is going to be secretive and rightfully so. :(

they include the juice on all loses. i have a -110 because i lost on a over bet in the morning. you can take the dogs on plus side if that is your strategy, but the winner at the end might be who is the least in the negative when its all said and done.

i should be -10 now with my baltimore win . well see when it updates.

yeah if you take a -250 and lose then a +156 and win, you will be -250 then +156 so you'll be -94

Wait, if you take a -250 and lose in this game you lost 250 units? Why would that happen?

I thought the bets were 100 unit bets plus juice on losses, so you lose -110 on a loss and win whatever the plus is on a win?

I would have expected, in your scenario, that you'd be -110 for the first bet and +156 for the second, so +46 total.

we are playing for most units won,not most wins like in football.

baseball is always money lines.unless you go the run line route.

which isn't available in our contest

someone could go 47-53 and win by a ton over a 65-35, which is the best way to do it imo

I haven't read every page of this thread...but, is it to late to get in? and is there a minimum # of bets required per week? Whole season? What is the entry fee?

not too late, entire regular season, $25

the rest we probably need to decide.

Minimum 50 picks? 100?

We also need a pick required date so someone doesn't come and june in August when we're all so far in the red

We have a lot of uncertainty going on here.

I know Trendon is busy right now so it may be a little while which is understandable.

I'll just keep making picks in the mean time after a rough 1-2 start
