What are Sony Points and how do you get them?
Shop at Sony store or use one of their cards.
What he said. I have a Sony Card Visa. 1x points on most purchases, 3x on restaurants and movie theaters, and 5x on any sony purchases (via their online store or by filling out a form and sending in a copy of the receipt).

Then, 100 points is equal to $1 credit on a Sony item. So, it amounts to 1% cash back (basically) but the cash is good for Sony stuff.

It is my one and only credit card and I put anything and everything on it that I can.

PS4 won't be in their online store right away, but I'll be able to buy it at Best Buy, and then mail in a form with a copy of the receipt and apply all my available points as credit toward the purchase, which gives me a credit on my statement in that amount (Points/100). I've got about $120 worth right now as I bought the Xperia S Tablet last year with my points, should make it close to $300 worth by December.

Exactly. I want to know why it was so hard for developers to code for PS3 and what specifically are they doing different that makes it so much easier for the PS4 like they mentioned. This also opens the door for cable companies to charge for internet usage like phone companies are now.

Yeah, I found out a few months ago. I've probably pissed away about the same amount of points as he has.

Not to completely hijack the thread, but I've had my card since around 2000 I think.

In that time I've bought two different MP3 players and a subwoofer for free using points. I've also gotten $400 off the launch PS3 I bought, $500 off a 55" Sony LED TV, and about $260 off the Xperia S Tablet. And I'm sure I've bought some movies here and there when they offered some crazy deal on the Sony Rewards site.

For example, they are currently offering 5000 bonus points when you redeem at least 5000 points in a transaction on their website. So, I found two movies I wanted that came out to 5042 points, and they effectively cost me 42 points after the bonus is applied. Or, free movies, more or less.

My Discover card has pretty solid rewards. 1% on everything, plus every 3 months there are rotating categories which get 5% (entertainment, travel, gas, grocery, etc). I get a couple hundred bucks back through it a year, most of which I apply directly to Amazon purchases (when I pay with the card, it has an option to automatically deduct rewards)

I stick with airline cards.

If you know how to work it, you can get a united card with a 50000 bonus, netflix pops up with a 4000 bonus and then you only need to spend 6000 on the card before the years up and the 95 annual fee goes on. if you do that you have 60000 miles which is enough for a round trip ticket to europe, 65000 is a round trip to asia.

you could also do the united card plus the chase saphire which has a similar bonus and rack up even more miles as they have similar bonuses. you can get about 100000 united miles just on that, then a few easy bonuses and have a pair of free round trip tickets to anywhere in the world.

if anyone wants to get set up, i can help lol. i have something like 150000 miles with united, 80000 with american and delta each.

You're movies aren't free. They're coming at a cost: a small piece of your soul every time you steal one. ;)
