I like the settings where they are. I'd like to see a little more enviromental variety throughout the tourneys, especially the four rounders. When every round is set to the same wind, it seems like the winds are never different on each hole, basically playing the same round all 4 rounds. I also wouldn't mind playing in the rain or at night, just throw some different stuff in, just seems to get repetitive over 4 rounds when the settings don't vary a lot.

Has there been any consideration to playing from the blues? That could help even things up a little, especially at the longer courses. I know at pinehurst I had to hit driver twice to make a couple par 4s in two. I imagine it took three for some of the guys with less power. Might be an option rather than giving people strokes. Might be a good experiment for the weekend dailies that dont count.

Can you change the settings each round or is it overall for the entire tourney?

Corey told me to tell you to stop complaining. :)

I know you can change the pins, I am assuming you can change all the other settings. The gameplay settings are probably set throughout, but I would think the environmental settings can be set for each round.

The only thing you can change from round to round is the tees and the pins. The weather and course condition can't change which is dumb.

Oh, well that explains it. That sucks.

So in previous years, let's say I was off the green about 20 yards out, I use some wedge that has like 60 or 90 yard potential. So, there's a strategy involved to try and single at 1/3 or quarter speed to get the distance right.

So, my 1st couple of rounds on the new game, I'm doing this and every shot is coming up way short, half the time not even reaching the green. So I've learned that now I put the marker wherever I want the ball to go, and give it a full swing and even if I'm 20 yards away, it'll only go roughly 20 yards. Anyone know why that is?

I like the strategy part of getting the swing timing down, but it seems like that is gone.
Anyone have anything on my complaining post? :)

I thought so at first.

Like I said, if I have a PW that goes 60 yards, and i'm 20 away, I'd try to hit 1/3 power, and I'd hit it 6 yards or something lol. But if I put my marker where i want the ball to go in terms of distance, then I just swing at 100% swing, and it'll go 20 yards, despite being a 60 yard club. it's odd, and it wasn't like that last year.

I think the shot type changes based on where you are. For example, if you are 130 yards away, the default shot type is full swing. If you are 60 yards away, it defaults to pitch and if you are just off the green it defaults to chip.

But even on pitch shots last year, you couldn't do a full swing from 20 yards out, right?

Last year it defaulted to full swing I think. I remember always having to change my shot as I got closer to the green. This year, I just use whatever the default is.

Maybe we can put it on "random" weather, or is that an option?

I like the rain feature, it changes things quite a bit.

I liked the rain today in the final rd of the tourny...

Personally, I'm a tour pro level person. Really like that setting, if you mess up a drive then you pay....etc.

With that said, whatever, its been a lot of fun.

I understand wanting to mess around w settings and make things "tough", but dear God.....a course where the fairways are sometimes only 20 yds wide with a 25 mph crosswind? A par 5 where you're hitting into a 20 mph wind and it takes you 4 shots just to get onto the green? I quit today's unofficial daily tournament after the third hole. There was absolutely nothing fun about those settings.

I enjoyed the round. It was fun. I got 3 double bogeys and an eagle on the round and ended up +3.
