Which brings up another point. Is there anything worse than "guy who takes the entire allotted time to finish an exam, no matter how long"?

happens all the time. As a teacher you have to pretend its not ridiculous. As an elective teacher, my tests should take no longer than 15-20 minutes tops. Some kids will take the full 45 or whatever

Bear's OOTP drafting style would be exactly like the kid who takes the full 1 hour to take the test just about every single time, and yet always gets an A+.

May be hard to believe with my post count lol, but I'm usually a pretty quiet dude, especially in school. I mind my own business, cause no trouble, and generally just stay in the back of class.

One day in college we had a test, and the professor mentioned he would have them graded for the next class 2 days later. Show up to class, he mentions they weren't graded. No biggie, I wasn't mad, but I figured I didn't need to be there for an hour, so I packed up to leave. As I'm going, he calls me out for leaving(forgot exactly what he said). Not sure what it was but it just kinda set me off, I guess it was the teacher asserting his authority and trying to call me in front of everyone in the class. But I said almost exactly what you said in front of a class of about 100, maybe even 200. I said I pay good money to be here(nevermind I was on scholarship LOL) so if I wanted to leave, I was going to leave, and I walked out.

In fairness, I was like 20 when us dudes think we rule the world, but more importantly, like I said, it was a class of about 150, so he had no clue who I was. Had it been a class of 20 and he knew my name, no chance I was doing that.

Teachers hate this shit as much as the kids.

You know what is fun? Hand out the study guide for the final, tell them it will help them tremendously as they prepare for the final, watch as half the class puts the paper in their folder and closes their books, and then just sit back and smile. Why smile? Because it is oh so entertaining when you hand out the final exam and say, "Oh yeah, you can use your study guides (which are the exam questions in a slightly different form) on the exam".

Priceless.

My fav Junior High BS move........hand out a paper and before they even read it...."I don't get what we are doing." So lazy.

My favorite is reading standardized tests to elementary kids. We had one this year whose IEP stated he could have it read to him and he had extended time. The problem was, he'd still do nothing. The teacher would read the questions and he'd just sit there. It took them four hours to take a test that should've been done in less than two. With all the testing irregularity pressure we have now (thanks, Atlanta) it's ridiculous the stuff we have to go thru now, at least the kids I read to kept up with me and we finished early. On a side note, nothing more frustrating than watching them bomb an easy test.

Probably unethical to accept them as bribes so I would give them back if I were you.

What's even more fun is knowing that that standardized test is an element in your evaluation which factors into your pay.
