If you have a ndl.lg_copy, or something like that you can delete your ndl.lg file. I have 4 copies of the NDL.lg file just in case i mess up. I delete it and then rename one of my copies to NDL.lg and when you check for updated files you should have the emails again.

if you take the File from the 1st post, you should get that email back. That email does not show up till arb period starts, Which was 2 sims ago.

Re: 2024 - Season - RULE 5 and FREE AGENCY (Ready 7/4)

Post by ReignOnU »

File up. Email sent. Website updated.

Next sim is Friday NIGHT, 6p EST deadline. I'm extending this because Free Agency Week 1 is live. When I looked at the schedule earlier this week, it looked pretty jammed up to me. This is the result. We have the Rule 5 draft and Free Agency starting on the same day. So with that said, I need your draft lists for Rule 5 by 5pm tomorrow. This sim will take us 7 days. We'll go through the first few weeks of FA in 7 day increments. We will have a bonus sim this weekend, on Sunday morning.

FRI 6p - Rule 5 Draft, FA Wk.1
SUN 9a - FA Wk.2
MON 8a - FA Wk.3

I really wish they handled staff contracts a little differently. Nothing like getting no warning that your scout will vanish and then not having a scout for several sims leading into Rule V and FA.

Next sim is tomorrow, Thu, 7/4.

Quick Schedule:
- Thursday: Arbitration and Award Voting Deadline
- Friday: Rule 5 Draft (a mid-day sim, lists due by 11am)
- Saturday: Free Agency Starts
Next time you decide to do an unscheduled 14 day sim leading us to an important event, can you please announce it first. I just lost a future HOF to FA. Thanks.

By the way, your post can be made to read that the Thursday sim bring us to the deadline, specially when we have 14 days calendar game days left.

Thanks in advance. Have a Happy 4th!

You weren't able to resign him during the regular season, or the last three days when he clearly stated we were leading up to free agency?

Ok . . . apparently if you delete the email and don't "VOID" the team option, then they automatically get that year accepted.

Is there a way to get his (Ando's) contract void. I really don't care to have $26.65 mil on the books for a player that has been putting up crap numbers. Is kind of the reason I put the team option on there.

Same with Carlos "Reptile" House . . . was not going to exercise his team option either.

It really sucks that you had that situation, but I don't think it would be fair. I had an issue last season where a guy accepted a contract extension even after I'd removed it, and I had to keep the contract.

Even if you deleted the email, all you had to do was release the player during either of the last two sims and it would have voided the team option without costing you any money (you don't pay on team options if you release a player, only player options or guaranteed years).

I dont want to question your intelligence, but I dont know how you can look at my post and ask yourself "I wonder if he was able to sign him during the regular season, or the last three days?"

that bit of information would have been nice to know . . . I was under the impression that releasing a player means you pay the remainder of his contract. . .

I wouldn't either, but I would understand if Reign didn't want to set that precedent to allow everyone a second chance in certain spots.

Fair warning... I'm in a shitty mood right now...

- Bear - Take your smugness and shove it up your ass. I posted a quick schedule that said that the Rule 5 draft was Fri, for that to happen, we had to get to draft day today. You've been here long enough to know this. The only thing that changed from that schedule is that FA opens today.

- Jason - Your situation wasn't the same. You told me after the fact and even then when I took the time to research it, there was no indication of that happening. If I remember right, I happened to have not 1, but 2 backups that I checked on for you.

- Ran - I've been very busy but did notice your posts and should have posted something. Next time, send me a PM or find me on AIM to get a direct response. Randomly asking for help on the forum will not always get you a timely answer. Send me a PM with the information for the 2 individuals.

- Regarding sign & trades... we do NOT have a rule preventing them at this point. So if you do them this season, so be it. If you guys want a rule proposed to prevent them, lets discuss it. I'm for it happening.

I personally think sign and trades are okay.
