Re: Tesla Talk
It looks as though video has emerged of it being tampered with.
Ongoing investigation.
In other news, the X and S have a new version that can get 370 miles. Crazy

Re: Tesla Talk
When they do shit like this, is it simply a software update or different battery entirely?Cnasty wrote: In other news, the X and S have a new version that can get 370 miles. Crazy

Re: Tesla Talk
This time it was an actual redesign but yes they also can improve battery/range with just a simple software update in some cases.

More Efficient Design
All Model S and X vehicles now benefit from Tesla’s latest generation of drive unit technology, which combines an optimized permanent magnet synchronous reluctance motor, silicon carbide power electronics, and improved lubrication, cooling, bearings, and gear designs to achieve greater than 93% efficiency. Pairing a permanent magnet motor in the front with an induction motor in the rear enables unparalleled range and performance at all times. The net effect is a more than 10% improvement in range, with efficiency improvements in both directions as energy flows out of the battery during acceleration and back into the battery through regenerative braking. In addition to adding range, power and torque increases significantly across all Model S and Model X variants, improving 0-60 mph times for our Long Range and Standard Range models.

Re: Tesla Talk
Yea. Elon basically said that millions of combustion engine cars catch on fire with thousands dying, and that Teslas are 500% less likely to catch fire, but when 1 does, it makes national news.

This is fine...Tesla lost $702 million last quarter after drop in Model 3 deliveries
It also says it doesn’t expect another profit until the third quarter of this year

Just read that their stock could get to as low as $10 at some point. If they do, I will buy a few for shits and giggles.

Re: Tesla Talk
Why wait for Tesla to make a truck when you can do it yourself?? This is awesome.
How she did it....she is amazing and has an awesome back story if you get time to watch some of her videos.

Re: Tesla Talk
acceptable, but not my cup. Go ahead and put a backseat and enclose the back and call it a 69 Camaro and we can be cool.

Re: Tesla Talk
Love the patina of the second one.
I really dig hot rods and rat rods.
I need to find $25k for this. I've been eyeballing this for a couple of years. Not sure why it hasn't sold though.

Same here with the patina look.
I want it so I don't mind my son/daughter leaning against it.
If you owned that top truck, you wouldn't want anyone breathing on it.

Re: Tesla Talk
Grew up drag racing classic cars, it was a big thing for my dad and friends. I've never been a fan of the buckets, but I love a lot of the American Muscle cars.
The first car I bought was a 70 1/2 (half model year) Nova. The transmission was jacked up and it only went in reverse. Put a lot of work into that car when I was 15, mechanically and physically. New transmission (400 turbo), Edelbrock carb, MSD iginition, comp cam and rollers. I remember picking it up late in my sophomore year when I was 15, but the time I drove it to school at the start of my junior year, it was running low 12s.
Looked very similar:
We sold the Nova before my senior and I picked up another car that needed a lot of work, a 77 Cutlass. Dropped the 350/400 combo in it as well. Not nearly as quick, it was a boat. But took reinvested a lot of the money into our 2 main drag cars, a 66 Bel Air and 84/86 (don't quite remember) Firebird. The Bel Air looked dead on the one in the photo below. The Firebird was black, kind of like Knight Rider style, but it was a completely gutted and modified car, not street legal. It's sole intention was 10 sec.
'66 Bel Air:

I've told my wife that I'll eventually pick up something, but we're a solid 3-4 years out on that. Then comes down to how much time I want to invest into it vs. getting it day 1. Most interested in a late 60s Camaro or Firebird, but I do have a soft spot for the Nova and Chevelle. It will definitely be a GM power plant, as that's what I grew up with.

Side note... pic of my G8 popped up on Facebook history last weekend. Made me sad. I've had my truck for about 5yrs (time flies!!!). Starting to get that itch.
