Re: NFL Thread
i'm not asking for people to agree with me, i'm just stating in my opinion its not practical/logical.
teams would use them as weapons rather than as tools to prevent bad calls.
any long td play i'd challenge and have a team of 20 guys watching every player from multiple angles til they found a guy who did something illegal, then i'd challenge it.
if i get to keep rolling them out, then i'd probably do it every play i saw ANY penalty occur.

How long do you think that would fly before communication becomes heavily monitored or restricted between HC/OC/DC in the press box? (I'm sure that is already, but just the general principle) I'm guessing about 2 weeks.

Re: NFL Thread
They'd cut off your collection of people looking for just penalties. There would be obvious controls in place so people couldn't game the system like that.

Re: NFL Thread
when the stakes are that high, there will always be a work around. they could hire guys to sit in the stands with huge signs (FLAG #90) that are their watching every player on every play in real time.
the ability to challenge EVERYTHING just isn't realistic, again all in my opinion

I'm on team Dave here. Plus a lot of the challenges could be won awarding more challenges making the games longer and monotonous than they already can be at times.DRiccio21 wrote:when the stakes are that high, there will always be a work around. they could hire guys to sit in the stands with huge signs (FLAG #90) that are their watching every player on every play in real time.

All I was saying in the Seattle game, it's under two minutes, and you have a no brainier penalty. Everyone in the building saw the foul, buzz the official with their little buzzing technology they have for a replay under 2 minutes and say "hey obvious penalty, Detroit ball on the 1." No coaches challenge just a booth review.
Like I said I didn't know it was even a penalty till after the game but be that as it may, it was obvious he swatted it and if it's a an obvious penalty under two minutes it needs to be rectified.
Oh, one last thing, they need to get rid of that penalty it's stupid and clearly not enforced.

(and they are my team)
Re: NFL Thread
How many pass attempts did he make? I'm just going from memory, because just a little before that winning score, didn't it show that he was like 23/27 on pass attempts less than 15 yards and 0/3 over 15? I can't remember the exact numbers, but boy that isn't a good sign.

Re: NFL Thread
Well, he's still obviously injured, so yea, he can't really throw the deel ball much, if at all until that shoulder heals up, who knows how long that'll be.cougnix wrote:How many pass attempts did he make? Re: NFL Thread
Maybe High-pitched voice Peyton Manning could throw the deep ball?
Re: NFL Thread
Yeah, he is done too. Sad to see both of them not able to push the defense with the deep ball.Whittness10 wrote:Maybe High-pitched voice Peyton Manning could throw the deep ball?

What do you expect? they are both old enough to be veteran coaches. its a miracle they both are still able to be effective even with a modified game plan.
Re: NFL Thread
I don't expect anything. Neither of them are on my team so I don't really care, but it's like watching the other greats trying to squeeze one more year out, ie Favre, Montana, etc. That's sad.texasfan4444 wrote:cougnix wrote:Yeah, he is done too.
