i think BB said in postgame it was his call to kick. not 100% i haven't been reading too much

i'm also fairly certain they've kicked to start OT in the past

They have before, but usually in bad weather or other extenuating circumstances.

I can't see much of any reason to have done it today, the Jets offense wasn't playing so bad.

Yea, I still have no idea what the positives are of kicking but basically if he picks to kick, then NYJ gets to pick which goal to defend and you know they'd likely receive, so by saying kick NYJ basically gets both choices.

I guess if NE truly wanted to kick, the guy should have chosen which end zone he wanted to defend, then let NYJ choose to receive.

Still doesn't add up for me, I don't really get it.

if they do it relatively often then i gotta think they have some numbers that indicate its a + expectancy decision.

i don't know the #'s well enough to speak on it, if only Trendon was still around!

1st team receiving has to score a TD to win or else NE gets. You play the numbers u can get a 3 n out and get a punt near mid fieldish, kick a FG and end it.

NE screwed up cause Im guessing there was some bad wind so NE should of been kicking with the wind, which would help them even more in the above strategy cause it gives you yards to boot from.. instead gave the wind to NY and the ball.

Yea, i just saw the replay finally, it looks like the dude probably told the ref before the toss that they wanted to kick because as soon as it went to heads, the ref said to the Pats guy, "you want to kick?"....he wouldn't have said that had he not already known. I think in that regard, the ref screwed up pretty badly, you gotta let him make the choice. But nonetheless, the player is responsible on his end to make the choice he wants to make, which seems like choosing the side to defend.

I'd like to see the numbers, doesn't the receiving team win over 50% of the time?

Maybe the weather/wind was much worse than I thought, but NYJ was playing extremely well offensively, so that's why it didn't make much sense to me.

Browner burned for a 90 yard TD pass

i was playing against a guy who had Bortles and Robinson in the championship

NOT MY DAY! :)

I just really don't understand football. He's pretty obviously the worst corner on the team and whoever the 5th string dude is, if they bump everyone up one spot, I don't see how they can get any worse than how bad Browner has been...and yet every week he's our #1 CB out there guarding the other team's best WRs, getting smoked constantly and adding to his already NFL all time record for number of penalties.

I just don't get it.

I wasn't kidding these last few weeks when I've been saying we're an all time bad pass defense with an all time bad #1 cornerback.

It's 41 TDs, it was 5 or 6 INTs, but we got 2 today. and the QB rating was something like 116 before a couple of weeks ago.

I don't get many predictions right in sports/football that I make but I knew Chip Kelly in the NFL would not work. His scheme is easier to defend with elite athletes and the way he makes pro guys practice is far too rigorous.

any rumors where he'd go?

i know nothing about college football and i don't follow this stuff too close but i could see Texas just packing Charlie Strong's bags for him and giving Chip an absurd contract
