I saw 7.9. Not that it makes much difference, just weird how there could be variance in the number.

It's actually quite a lot. .4 difference is about 2.5x bigger and 3.9x stronger.

Also Chile is up there with Japan and California with being built to deal with earthquakes. The 7.0 magnitude earthquake that rocked Haiti 5 years ago killed about 160000 people. A 7.0 earthquake in any of those places would barely cause damage (not counting tsunami issues).

Sorry, meant the waves would continue through 11pm. New Zealand has also issued a tsunami warning.

Ready or not, it's done a lot of damage. Luckily they have a cell phone alert system and we're able to clear the beaches, it's a two day holiday in Chile so lots of people were at them.

Just looked it up after reading your post. That's really sad. Not a big Obama fan but it was cool to see that he said "Cool clock mohammed, want to bring it to the white house?" or something like that. Glad to see the support

Republican Candidate debate is a rocking good time if you like your humor with a dash of humor.

I particularly like Ben Carson, the black guy, stating that it would be a good idea that for illegal immigrants that "people who had a pristine record we should consider allowing them to become guest workers primarily in the agricultural sphere". So, is he saying we should take them and put them to work in the fields picking cotton?

Sorry Captain Planet. I haven't talked about earthquakes since 8th grade, I'm a little rusty.

that's a bad bad call by administration and the SRO on site.

But for Nick to act like everyone is fucking out of their minds for even raising a finger about, and further more implying that what is in that picture couldn't be a bomb, then he is 100% naïve

Like I said, if the teacher said, "a clock, cool.", and it turned out to be a bomb, Nick would probably be the first person wagging a finger at the teacher for being incompetent.

Seems like a very tough situation for the teacher to be in. The issue, like Dave said, is arresting and putting the poor kid in handcuffs.

agreed. Believe it or not, its a pretty easy situation to deal with that was dealt with horribly after the teacher passed it off

I just ignored the nick response to me anyway. It was a sarcastic response to George asking what it looked like and I hadn't even seen the thing, just saw the kid on the TV after they showed the image of his clock. So I wouldn't have expected any less of a troll job from him.

I'm with AJ on this one though. Handcuffs and shipped out like that? Bad move.
