Saints fans are complaining about Brees getting $20mil, apparently that's a bargain.

You could argue it's slightly high, but it puts him around the 15th highest paid QB. A lot of these deals would be higher if signed today instead of years previous. This is pretty much what happens when you combine a relatively weak QB class (as far as being ready to start day 1) and a thin QB free agent market

2016 Quarterback Cap Hit Rankings

*cap hit numbers vary from base salaries

1 Drew Brees - $30,000,000 (obviously could change after today)
2 Joe Flacco - $28,550,000
3 Eli Manning - $24,200,000
4 Ben Roethlisberger - $23,950,000
5 Matt Ryan - $23,750,000
6 Matthew Stafford - $22,500,000
7 Peyton Manning - $21,500,000
8 Philip Rivers - $21,000,000
9 Tony Romo - $20,835,000
10 Kirk Cousins - $19,953,000
11 Cam Newton - $19,500,000
12 Aaron Rodgers - $19,250,000
13 Russell Wilson - $18,542,000
14 Carson Palmer - $17,875,000
15 Alex Smith - $17,800,000
16 Jay Cutler - $17,000,000
17 Robert Griffin III - $16,155,000
17 Andrew Luck - $16,155,000
19 Colin Kaepernick - $15,890,753
20 Tom Brady - $15,000,000

Going to sound crazy but how much better is Bradford than Sanchez? if he is still the backup, not even sure.

Not a crazy question at all. Sanchez is a high end backup but caved when asked to start for an extended period of time. He's pretty similar to Nick Foles. Bradford sure made some bone head plays and his accuracy wasn't quite what many expected last year, but I guess they liked what they saw in the final 5 or so games to make the commitment. I think he finished that stretch with a 90+ QB rating and 8:4 TD:INT which isn't eye popping but better than most backups. The run game also can't get much worse than last year so that may help as well. Overall it just goes back to the lack of other viable options. I'm alright with the money based on what I expect him to perform like but the injury risk is where I'd like to see how much is actually guaranteed. I know the numbers came out today from Schefter but I'm curious if there's any performance or game based portions language

Edit: initial reports had 26M guaranteed, just now read 22M guaranteed

Supposedly, the NFL has spent more money on DeflateGate than they have on concussion research, $20mil.

Demarco Murray and Byron Maxwell to be shown the door in Philly... Great news for salary relief alone, compensation will be icing in the cake. I'm a little indifferent on losing Alonso but he might not have been the same player following his return from injury

Kiko and Maxwell to the phins and Demarco to the Titans.

i'm still in Nashville til tomorrow, its kind of freaky how little Titans stuff is around. No signs in the bars or marketing stuff around, really odd. i asked all my uber drivers if they were fans and none of them were, some were cowboys, some were Falcons fans. i realize they suck but thats odd to me.

Went to a Chargers game a few years back and the stadium was half empty... Across town they were more non Chargers bars than anything else supporting the home team. I'm actually a little more surprised by Nashville though since it's not a beach town and normally country folk love them some football

It is just a Vols state. When I go down for Bears or Blackhawks games it is literally 80% Chicago fans. I just don't think it's a pro sports city.

Spot on. Tennessee pro fans are front runners. Memphis Grizzlies aren't even counted as a Tenn team. Titans and Predator fans only show up if they are good. College football is king. Won't ever change.

As a Titan fan. I like the Demarco trade. Anything is an upgrade over what we have currently.

I just worry he's been worked into the ground but it will all depend upon what they actually gave up draft pick wise

Had Brock held onto the football like he held onto this pizza, he could have been a Super Bowl quarterback!!!

Getting rid of Byron Maxwell and moving up 5 spots in the first round... A++++

Not sure if we have any Bengals fans here but the Illoka signing of 6/30 looks terrific after seeing Janoris Jenkins get 6/60. I get they play different positions but they are equally important imo and Illoka is the steadier performer

I'm not a Bengals fan, but I was just talking with 2 of them about that Iloka deal before lunch. That's an absolute steal IMO.

All offseason I had the Eagles pegged to take a QB in the first round under a new coach but with the return of Bradford and addition of Chase Daniel I'm not so sure anymore. At #8 they do stand pretty well positioned in case Goff/Wentz slip or if they feel strongly about Lynchs potential. 8 is too early for Elliot or any guard and I don't see tackle being a major need in the first. Pretty sure they could have gotten any corner they wanted at 15 so a bit intrigued by what may come out this move up

If Chip was still there, I'd have bet on Laquon Treadwell, also known as Jordan Matthews 2.0.

Which could cause a QB to slide if he goes to them at 7. Liking TCUs Josh Doctson as the top WR the more I read each day over say a Treadwell or Corey Coleman

Titans trade for Murray. They just swapped 4th round picks. Titans got Murray for 13 spots in the 4th. Titans haven't had a 100 yard rushing game since CJ and the leading rusher for Tenn only had close to 500-600 yards. Titans signed Ben Jones from Texans to play center or guard. Draft Tunsil. Weak AFC south. Titans should win 4 total next year. :)
