Also, I didnt understand the player development budget thing. It says I have a budget of $172m.
Total expenses=169,335,095
It wont let me add more to the player development budget though as it says:"With a negative projected balance, the new development budget must not be less than half the league average!"
My projected final balance is $25m in the green.
Looks like I still dont know some gaping holes in the finances of this game.

That's all there is to it. It just takes diligence and doing it every single sim. They won't last long out there. In fact, there was one last sim... of course, he's not very bright because he signed with nick instead of me.
Marcos Garcia? i was shocked I actually got one for once. He sent me a letter saying Philly was his fav so I threw out that Minor league contract again and he couldnt resist. Hes only a 24 pot but i'll rescout him and whatever, a 17 yr old in the pipeline

It made me think about how much I've spent on scouting in the last few seasons, so I grabbed the financial file... in 7 seasons, I've spent $200,419,906. Nearly $30m per year. The average, not included my team during that same time span is $14.8m per season.
There's a lot of interesting trends in the financial stuff, but it's not in a very clean format to be able to create some cool historical reports with it. Maybe one of these days this Spring, when I'm a little slow at work, I'll put it in order and throw it out there.
My 7 year number spent solely on International scouting is: $232,000,000.
I have signed 3-4 per year, but havent had much luck. The few with good ratings drop right away. Cant figure out how to get them to stick.
Also, good news for the AL. You wont have to see NY in the finals this year. Vancouver is ready to rule the AL for the forseable future. That is the NLs gift to you.
Just summed up some stuff for the league... I'm only showing just a touch less than I did from 2020-2026 (not including this season). Scouts are both legendary international, so I'd expect fairly similar results over a large sample size. I know the scouting ratings can be goofy when looking at other teams, so I don't put a lot of stock in that, but quantity should be similar at least. Maybe you are the mysterious founder of Esparza! (among the 6-7 others that come through every season)
Do you have anything that lists out the guys that have slipped through into FA? I'd love to see a total on the talent that people have simply missed from not paying attention. It has to be huge.

What's the date on that report? My only report on him is 2022, so I know it's not accurate... I've learned to sign them all and withhold judgement until a couple of years in the system. Erratic is an understatement when talking about their ratings.

I got the same message but it was Miami the first sim, Philly the second sim. Did you give him money or just minor league contract?

I was ready to thunder in with a "not so fast my friend"....then I looked at Vancouver's roster for the first time.
All those years of top 5 picks are paying off now.

Will the budgets be available after this next sim? My file crapped out when I went to get the update. I'll do the budgets and all Tuesday morning but want to make sure that they will be available.

@ Kelly - Yes
@ Ryan - No, that isn't the schedule we'll be using. I have to transfer over new schedule templates to my laptop and regenerate them.

are you looking at your projected balance at the bottom right of the screen or the upper middle (sorry I don't have my game open to give you better info than that)

Just guessing here, but you may be overbudget or near overbudget, but have a cash balance that has you in the green. That cash balance will help with signing free agents, but it won't show up in your actual budget.
