Re: NFL Thread
Funny that we joked about that, but the NFL actually said that in their letter to Vilma, according to Brees:DRiccio21 wrote:imagine a coach that says 'get out there and kill those guys!!!'
How crazy is that? And unless you're a Saints fan, no one cares. It's just MOAR FOOTBALL!!!"In Vilma's letter, it basically says no matter if pledges were disclosed or not, up for consideration or not, or paid or not, any actions or rhetoric that encourages injuring or disabling opposing players warrants discipline,"

Re: NFL Thread
I liked Bradshaw's worthless rant about Brees being selfish the way he asked for Payton,Loomis, and the other guy to be present for when he breaks the record.
Fool
Fool
"I was a little upset that he went to the NFL to get Payton and everybody back to watch him break a record," Bradshaw said. "I'm like, 'Are you kidding me?' I never would have gone and asked for them back … I thought it was disrespectful to the San Diego Chargers … So break it, go ahead. Hell, you're throwing it 50 times a game … I'm just against stuff like that. I just don't believe in doing stuff like that."

And this is why these sports shows are all terrible IMO.
Whether his opinion is "right" or "wrong", like you said, it's just a worthless rant on a rather meaningless subject.
Meanwhile, the bounty stuff, they rarely tough or really get into some of the stuff that has happened with it.
And that's slightly more relevant than Brees having Payton watch him play a football game

Ready to move on from the Andy Reid regime...Castillo at DC was a reach and failure and offense has gotten stale and can't protect the QB. Lets not even get into Vicks contract

Yep, my sarcasm was a bit too soon.nick wrote:he has 1 more chanceshel311 wrote:Romo's a choker!!!!
But we will have a FG kick, so romo can now choke twice.

Re: NFL Thread
that was pathetic. tony romo lol
Re: NFL Thread
nfl teams go outta their way to make the FG next to impossible late for their kicker
that was probably the most predictable series of events. Get in range, throw dumb pass short, miss 50+ fg

PRetty sure throwing to dez there was the plan, he just couldn't break a tackle, and the team didn't hurry back to the line.nick wrote:that was pathetic. tony romo lol

Re: NFL Thread
So the color commentary guy for the Lions-Eagles games is a dummy lol.
Lions down 3, just got a 15-20 catch by Calvin Johnson to get into FG range, followed by a nice run to get down to the 17 yard line with 1:05 to play.
And he starts talking about how now the Lions went from just hoping to get into FG range, and now 2 plays later, how the Lions should be thinking of running the clock down to get Hanson i position for the game tying FG. They're at the 17 yardline, how bout, oh i don't know, trying to score a TD?

Re: NFL Thread
Lions just did it. Got to the 30 in OT, and ran 2 or 3 times, I think 3, to set up a 45 yard FG.nick wrote:nfl teams go outta their way to make the FG next to impossible late for their kicker

I get Hanson is good and probably makes 45 yarders at a pretty solid clip, but I don't get going that conservative all the time.
Re: NFL Thread
probability of fucking up outweights probability of getting a td. imoshel311 wrote:Lions just did it. Got to the 30 in OT, and ran 2 or 3 times, I think 3, to set up a 45 yard FG.nick wrote:nfl teams go outta their way to make the FG next to impossible late for their kicker

Teams score more TDs than they turn the ball over.nick wrote:probability of fucking up outweights probability of getting a td. imoshel311 wrote:Lions just did it. That being said, it's not about getting a TD, it's about trying to get a 25-30 yard FG as opposed to a 45-50 yard FG.
I'd guess that the probability of fucking up(especially when being somewhat conseravtive, but just not run run run) is less than the percent difference in a kicker's ability to make those 2 kicks.
