I enjoy these moments until the leaves turn to brown and a beautiful glow of orange meaning the calendar is turning to fall.
Then, that is where the fear begins to creep into the clubhouse of the Boston Minutemen like a monkey driven virus that exudes fear and panic.

the injury thing is really interesting.
i'm assuming they ran the numbers and this is more in line with real life. to me its really going to fix a lot of our leagues issues that we've discussed over the past few years. guys are going to actually have to field minor league teams to create depth, not as many quality players will be sitting on free agency, guys are going to have to bite the bullet on paying compensation more than they used to, payroll management is going to be a lot more than just 'locking guys up' and then not worrying about it.
ultimately guys who think they have a great chance to win are going to have seasons ruined by injuries, which happens all the time in real life but overall assuming the #'s make sense and are in line with real life injuries, i think its a welcomed addition to the league.

Fuji is on pace for an 11.3 WAR, which would be top 5. even more impressive is he gets zero of that from his defense.

I agree on the injury front... now just need to wait for it to happen to corey lol. Im down my 2 and 3 starter and my 2nd best hitter and it shows... I may be on the outside of the playoffs.

In theory yes.
But you are also going to have the teams that have a pretty solid team but zero depth just start tanking when they have 2 or 3 starters go down and won't be able to get to .500 because of it

very few, if any of us, have 'realistic' organizations.GeorgesGoons wrote:

i've bitched for years about guys rostering real minor league systems but in the old game it never mattered. you just found a 20 year old stud, locked him up and threw away the key til his contract was up and for the most part he was going to be penciled in to perform 'roughly' at an expected rate. now he might get hurt and if you can't bring in a AAAA type replacement cause you don't have a minors then you're going to suffer.
in theory, that should lead guys to correcting the behavior i discussed earlier. some guys may refuse to do it and they'll likely be the ones who bitch more when the injuries come.
you should get it into your head now that you could have an incredible team and lose a few studs to injury and have a season completely ruined. it happens all the time but it rarely happens in our league. its going to suck, it might even totally make you change your gameplan about your rebuild or your chase for a ring... but those are the things real GM's have to deal with.
