rough amounts

I think it's also related to slot amount for the draft picks that you have. I could be wrong on that part.
Of course, if you have extra budget room, you can always over spend. Your own will block you from doing something too stupid though.

A handful of minor league updates have been completed on the website.

I was bored and checking out some team splits/stats of mine, and I came across something seemingly completely unrealistic.
When facing a 3-0 count, my team is 2 for 5 with 68 walks. So 70 of 73 times with a 3-0 count, my guy has gotten on base with 68 of those being walks, now THAT is some good team discipline.

good question. id venture to say high but not that high. Maybe 70%ish of the time you get on base.
i am going thru game by game.. game 1.. 3-0 for them.. Manning hit the batter

atta boy enjoy that free base

San Antonio is 1 for 6 with 62 walks.
Washington is 5 for 11 with 54 walks.
Miami is 2 for 7 with 69 walks.
For an MLB comparison, the Red Sox this season are 2 for 6 with 98 walks.

That is high, but not outrageous. MLB average is something like .800 OBP in that situation.

some times (and I would guess a large % of the time) the result was a strike so it became a 3-1 count with no stat being accumulated

Assuming the game does it like STATS, the statistic is only triggered when their is an outcome. In other words, Shel's players have put a ball in play 73 times with a 3-0 count.

I don't get what you mean by 'shel's players have put the ball in play 73 times'. maybe i'm missing something. shel's players have put the ball in play 5 times and walked 68 with countless others resulting in a strike.
the way shel worded it makes it sound like the only thing that happened was either 5 times the ball was hit or the guy walked. my point was simply that I didn't think it was that odd assuming most of the time a player takes on 3-0. so a walk or a strike (non-result) is most likely outcome

Yea, that makes sense.

5 outcomes is still pretty low tho.
you'd assume you'd have some free swingers who swing on 3-0 regardless. 5 is basically nothing. I wonder if there is a 3-0 team strategy setting that our managers have guys being conservative on. I've never looked.

I think we are tangled up here. Let me ask a question.
Do you interpret this stat to mean:
1. Shel has gotten to a 3-0 count 73 times all together, including the times the PA didn't end there?
or
2. Shel has had a plate appearance concluded on the fourth pitch of the appearance 73 times, this triggering the "when the count is 3-0" stat?
I am taking it as #2.

its neither. shel's players have got a 3-0 count far more than 73 times.
the outcomes we're seeing in the stats are #2 but as a whole there are countless at bats on a 3-0 that don't end there. if its a strike on 3-0 there is not outcome so it wouldn't be reflected in the stats.

Congrats, we just managed to debate something from, like, six different angles and all six were right, LOL.

Long story short... Shels team has had at-bats end on a 3-0 count 73 times. 68 walks. 5 times his players swung on the 3-0 count and got 2 hits. End of story.
