Like I have said for a very long time and i am sure it is an impossibility but we need some people who are higher up to proof read these things. I will never forget about 6 seasons ago that my opponent stated in my comments "faked a punt and I was so infuriated I gave him all 0's, better luck next season man." That report should be thrown out.

that's the point I have, we can't let our emotions cloud our judgement. Because we got fooled on a play or something happened we didn't expect. We can't let that dictate what we know is right. Like I've had times where I was winning and basically had a solid defense called on 3rd and long and then the qb takes off or something happens and I didn't expect it I can't dock a guy for playing realistically but doing something that's not very common. I personally never run with my QB if it's a pass play and that's nothing against anyone else my brain just doesn't say run stupid lol. And it pissed me off at first one it happened to me because I was like come on man why you running on pass plays and then I asked myself if I really heard what I was saying and it was logical and very realistic and sim nothing wrong so although it may have upset me because it would be the play that cost me the game that was no ones fault but mine for not defending it......can't let emotions cloud our judgement guys.

Well what if there was a system in place that if a coach continues to give bad coaching reports, to certain coaches or just in general that maybe he should be looked at for dismal from the league?

I just don't get it. Like no one has ever faked a punt in college football before? Get a grip.

There are things I used to dock for that I don't care about anymore. Like when someone on a screen pass throws it to anyone but the Screen man (HB, RB, slot, TE). If you throw it down field its a god damned penalty. But the game will never throw a flag for an ineligible WR down field so I just stopped docking for that which in my opinion is worse than faking a punt.

Anyhow I have come to live with coaching reports and what they are in my opinion. One thing is for sure Il usually talk to you on AIM after the game if I had an issue which you prob run into one game a season if that. If not I always leave comments and sign with my name at the end.

I agree with you here. I think some guys in this league have gotten so used to the rules for alot of different situations that they have forgotten about real football. personally I dont care if a guy wants to go for it on fourth down anywhere on the field. It is risk vs reward. I mean if you feel that you never want to punt go for it. Now I am not saying break the NDL rules. But there cant be rules for every situation, somethings have to fall under a coaches decsion.

I remember in a scrim once I faked a punt, (prolly why I remember it because it was the only fake I ever called) it was like 4th and inches from my opponents 45 yardline and I used the quick snap run fake. I got it, and the other coach called me cheese and said that was against the rules, but I said it wasnt if you read the rules, and he said I should have lined up and ran a play then rather than fake it. To me I was like really your telling me that if I want to follow the rules and go for it on 4th I have to not try to be koy about it, but to show you im going? I just thought it was kind of funny, because in football isnt the goal to outsmart the other coach with some trick plays, isnt that the fun part?

It's been said countless times, "real life" football situations and logic aren't applicable here because this isn't real life. It never fails, the guys who are "real life coaches" often have the hardest time wrapping their brains around that fact.

I played a scrim vs Doc (Utah/Pitt) a couple days ago and he was user controlling the DT and pretty much dominating the oline. On one play he sits a guard on his ass right away on a pass play so I tuck and JUST BARELY out run his DT up the gut, avoid a shoe lace tackle from a linebacker and then avoid the safety down the sideline for an 86 yard touchdown run that was beautiful. It was a 100% realistic situation and play, Doc even complimented that play.

Anyone that has a problem with a play like that can get a life.

I am not sure if your comment was directed at me, but just to clarify my position a little. I didnt mean that real life translates over to a video game I just meant in general football or video games I think its fun to outsmart your opponent and catch them off guard. And since it football and we get to call plays and setup big plays I kind of think of it like chess on the field. I mean we all get excited when you string together some plays setting up the big play action pass.

It's directed at me UCLA. Don't worry about what Peay has to say as he dodges playing opponents in an important game in our league.

We alway preach playing "sim" football. Just don't see how running a fake punt isn't "sim" football. If he had stuffed the play would he have complained on the report? Who knows who cares. Was just brining it to attention that these things should get proofread.

i had someone run a fake punt against me this year. i thought it was awesome. it caught me completely off guard. i got lucky, however, because i think i called a different punt return play than normal, and my outside guy stepped in front of it and scored. had it worked, i would have just tipped my hat. shoot, i tip my hat for attempting it, period.

Yeah I had a couple guys try it on me in some scrims but I sometimes call the punt protection in man and that kills all fakes lol

Just an fyi, all coaching reports are read. If there is a problem with a Coach (meaning they are getting the same report from others) or a Coach is giving the same shitty reports, we will/do talk to them.

Keep the bitching to a minimum please, this thread wasnt started for a bitch session.

I hope you will be around tonight I get off in 40 mins and heading home to load up and look for you lol.

But just a side note I'm in no way complaining. Like I said I'm sure I make mistakes or things appear to be what they aren't from playcalls. That's reality I get it and I take any thing and move forward hoping to get better. What I stated was just a hope in being redundant in the fact that we know what coaching reports are about just hoping people are using them for emotional vendetta's. But thankfully we have the guys in the right places that know how to approach and analize these well enough to make sound and well informed decisions. Much appreciation for the Conf commishes and the league staff keep up the great work.
