i'm a little drunk and just got home and watched the first 45 minutes or so, i thought it was pretty cool.

kinda like a cross between a game of Civ and the movie Hunger Games
I liked the ceremony. Everyone got a quick lesson of british history. Mr. Bean in Chariots of Fire had me laughing. The dude from the Royal Air Force was so out of step when they were marching the flag up it was kind of humorous also.

NBC Olympics Live.

I got it, haven't watched yet. THere's like 10-15 channels it seems playing the olympics, crazy. It's almost "too many", as I don't feel like flipping through all of em to see what is on, so I just went back to Jake and the Neverland Pirates.

i agree the modern age part of the ceremonies was a little off... they tried to play the story line in the present (with the cell phone story) while going in the past (then back to the 70's)which kind of threw it all off. they also didn't have as much production at that part as they did at the beginning... the beginning was really well done but then it was like they ran out of money or something and didn't do anything at the end.

the girl who 'lost her phone' was beautiful

just went thru all the countries walking in... i enjoy watching the different cultures and seeing the countries.

a few i never heard of:

Kiribati
Lesotho
Myanmar
Nauru -- 9400 people?
Palau -- dude who was flag bearer had a George Washington fro... unreal
Sao Tome and Principe
Soloman Islands
Swaziland
Tajikistan
Timor-Leste
Turkmenistan
Tuvalu

few things as cool as the olympics. i couldn't imagine the pride of some of these athletes competing for their tiny, poor, war struck, random countries.

best random fact of the night was that .tv was the national domain thingy for Tuvalu and they sold its rights for 50 billion.

I read on article through Yahoo news, I think, about sex in the Olympic village. Apparently, there is quite a bit of it. Put that on the bucket list

1. Sex with exotic athletic women from all over the world while in Olympic Village...(never to happen)....

As I was watching the parade of nations last night there was at least a 70 percent I would rate...

As for the actual Olympics, the women's soccer team is awesome, the cycling was intense, and women's volleyball is fun to watch.Korea has a few cuties on their team.... 8-)

I think I read somewhere that NBC is offering a paper view package of live channels if you want pony up the dough for that.
