Think about it, you may figure it out.
OracleHCR wrote:I've already said I don't care if we use handicaps or not
So then I should be asking you why are you even in this conversation.

Because I just want to argue.

How about you shoot better than your average, you subtract those strokes from your handicap. So if you average -6 and you're getting 8, you shoot a -10, you only get 4 strokes. You shoot a -14 or better, you get 0.

Not downplaying Downing's handicap system (he's doing a great job), but honestly I dont even look at these standings on the boards for Season 2 ( I did for season 1)...I play for the fun of it, and want to do well, finish at or near the top with my REAL score. Having this handicap system is fine, but I just look at the real scores on the game and see how I did. I KNOW I'm not winning anything, standing's wise with a handicap system, nor do I care. I enjoy the competition of trying to compete and be at or near the top of each tournament with real scores.
And yes, handicaps are used in real golf...but around here, they are used to flight you. (A flight 0-6, B is 7-10, C is 11- 14, etc.) Once you're flighted, you play straight up, there's no net score then a handicap score...I understand its different other places, just saying...
I'm fine with no handicap, handicap, or some other way whomever decides is best...I'm in regardless. You guys can babble on and on about handicaps, etc...I'll play and try to compete with real scores, I'll let you guys decide who wins in the standings with the help. I really don't know who would want to win getting strokes anyway. Its not like some of us are 72 years old competing against 24 year olds in real golf, where handicaps can help...its just a video game where I play laying on the couch, with a beer, half a sleep most of the time anyway
