115k preorders...insane
Auto pilot hardware standard
Super charging standard
215 miles at minimum range
0-60 time less than 6 seconds on the base alone
Front end of the car is....interesting if you will. That interior is definitely unfinished so we will see. I think it looks fantastic though pending final polishing.
I really liked the dark gray/steel or even matte if it was and will go with that or black I am thinking. Tough choice!
Overall, very happy and will be keeping my reservation.

Damn, pretty good looking whip there. Frankly, autopilot would probably be my only 'must have', so really cool to see that standard.
If I was in the market right now, the biggest issue holding me back would be local support. I hate the idea of having to go to Chicago to get anything on it fixed

From my understanding auto pilot hardware is standard. You would still need to buy the add on if I heard him right but interested to see more details as it unfolds.
I agree though as auto pilot and super charging were the 2 things I wanted the most. Ludicrous mode would be nice but it won't feel the same with 2 car seats in the back.

Just curious why autopilot is almost a must have for both of you... That would seem to be at the bottom of my list

. Was AWD an add on or even available?

AWD definitely available, although not sure if it's standard.
In my head, autopilot is one of those things that makes a Tesla a Tesla, something that sets it apart from anything else I could get right now.

Exactly and future proofing the vehicle is important to me with a large portion of vehicles going auto pilot in an estimated 10-15 years or so.
Not to mention the videos of it on YouTube have blown my mind.
Dark 20 inch rims, auto pilot and dual battery with super charging are my top things.

Ive always been of the mindset that Ill end up driving my '09 Focus until it dies, but damn that matte black 3 sure does look enticing. Shoot, maybe itll time itself out just right

You deserve it chief.
I am hoping for 2 years for delivery as I can pay off and sell my wife's car outright just in time for delivery.
I like the darker colors but not sure I'd go matte black on this ride. It almost feels cheapish? I really like the dark gray model s with the dark rims.

I actually feel like the matte has the opposite effect

I only say that due to the plasti dip craze. I've seen cars wrapped and it looks fantastic though.
Preorders alone up to 200k as they have grown substantially after the reveal. Simply amazing. I will log my diary as a consumer to see how this unfolds from someone buying it. Exciting

I imagine they have a decent presence out there in the DFW area? The amount of hype they've managed to generate has been impressive, here's to hoping they can start turning a profit

I see one almost every single day and have started to see the X now.Nowhere near as common as the Tahoe on every corner but I do see more than I ever saw in Central Florida easily. I am sure Dave sees some in Miami too. The funny part is Texas is one of the hardest states to buy one in and considered a hassle in the process due to their laws and such.
With that being said since the DFW area is one of the fastest growing in the nation and progressive in some areas, you see charging station at most of the major restaurants and we even have 2 spots at our hospital.

Possibly an HUD for the dash versus that one screen has been stated. Biggest dislike for me thus far is the interior and screen so hoping that gets some polishing. I do love the high roof being a taller person.

i have 3 in my building at my place and 2 or 3 in my office building and my 2 best friends down here drive the S.
they are pretty common at this point in Miami.
i haven't seen an X in person tho.
and as for being profitable. they are cash flow positive.

That front clip has a very, "Aston Martin" type of feel to it.

Trying to get used to the look without needing a grill in the front.
